Cvt auto gearbox
There's not usually a lifespan to be honest. I've see some occasional reports of failures but as far as I know there is no widespread problem with this type of gearbox. Some people like the way that they drive and others don't seem to but if you're not used to it then it will take some getting used to.

Windscreen Problem
A squeaky windscreen is one of those annoying and often hard to rectify problems. There's not a huge amount you can do really aside from trying out another high quality set of blades of giving the windscreen another good clean. If you're finding that the washer fluid doesn't cause a squeak, why not try diluting some of that and using it as screen cleaner and wiping with a paper towel. You could always try wiping the blades with this too.

Fully amplified or not
I know Dynamic Sounds are meant to be pretty good and are not all that far from you... https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/

lowering springs
There's a fair few options on that site but I think that one is the only one that has a lower drop at the front than the back. They do a 30mm all round though...

You can't really go too far wrong with Eibach they make some quality stuff. They do a 50/40 kit which isn't too far from what you're looking for: https://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/car-parts/audi/a4/eibach-50mm40mm-sportline-lowering-suspension-springsa4-b7-saloon-16-18t-20fsi-fwd-0105

Sorry, just seen the answer in your other post!

Fully amplified or not
I believe Bose systems are usually fully amplified. If you can, the best way to check on the fitting kit would be to pop your head unit and check the connector blocks against the options available online to see if they match up.

Hi Emma, welcome to the club! :) Should be fairly straight forward, what Audi head unit do you currently have fitted?

Owners manual for Audi A6
Yes or if you're really lucky you can find a PDF online that someone has uploaded. Sadly Audi are one of the few manufacturers that don't release PDF manuals so you have to rely on other people to do it.

Newbie Audi Girl Popping On To Say Hi

audi and 4g
Does your phone show that you have 4g signal? 4G is data only currently and does not do phone calls - the phone will switch back to 3G or 2G for that.

Is yours A6 a C5 or C6?

New to the site
Yes auto seems to be becoming the way to go these days. Manuals are fun and all when you have minimal traffic and a nice twisty section of road, but when you're stuck in traffic you can't beat an auto!

No problem, glad I could help! :) Has the speaker just gone faulty or are you upgrading?

Fuse Panel layout
Strange... everything I've found seems to indicate that this should be the case. I'm assuming yours is different to the A6 in the second video of this link: http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2008_Audi_A6_3.2L_V6/fuse_interior/replace It appears that this car has a fuse box at each end. Some have a box in the boot too.

I believe so. This guide makes pretty interesting reading even going from the single din version it looks like you can get an adapter lead to end up with the correct connections: http://www.pvv.org/~shane/stasj/pics/motor/dokumentasjon/A4-S4_B5/Audi%20-%20FULL%20Installing%20Sat%20Nav%20in%20an%20A4.pdf

Rear speaker change
I'm not 100% sure but I think there may be a cover over the door pull that you pull off and the screws are under there?

With regards to the oil I agree it is difficult to tell sometimes but obviously as a minimum just check the oil and make sure that the levels look ok as if not this could either be a sign of oil usage or poor maintenance. Sat nav wise the RNS-E unit is not that difficult to fit if you have a little experience with that sort of thing, however it can be quite expensive to buy the unit and you will need a GPS aerial too. My advice would be to be patient and find one that already has all the toys you would like. Makes life a little more simple that way and options don't always add that much to the price of a second hand car.
