David. I have merged your other topic into this one as it relates to the same matter. Please refrain from starting new topics on the same subject.

Drivers door unlocking issue
The usual problem is damaged wires in the rubber bellows between door and frame/A post.

Make sure you creep slowly onto the ramp so you can stop at the first scraping sound.

Alternator not charging issue.
Any progress on this Dave?

Electrics have shut down?
I doubt there would be any goodwill from Audi on a seven year old car, no matter how small the mileage.

Water Noise When Raining
David. There have been other reports in one of this site's forums about the same matter. It is worth searching forum history for details.

Timing Chain Service/Replacement
Agreed, which means one gets plenty of audible warning when it is time to change the chain and tensioner, so no need to reject a car that has covered x thousand miles simply because it has not had a new chain. Just factor the cost into your servicing calculations based on whatever story you choose to believe about service life.

steering issue
In that case I return to wheel alignment as a first step. I suggest you get it checked/adjusted. Most tyre places can do this at much lower cost than Audi. If the alignment is fine then it time to consider wheel bearings and suspension bushes. Please let us know the outcome.

steering issue
Does the car have lane assistance? If so, can it be switched off?
- New shape SQ5 beset with many problems..anyone else had any?

steering issue
It sounds like the front wheel alignment is wrong. Has any work been done on the front suspension or steering? Has it been in a crash? Have the front tyres been changed?

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
The 12 systems are prone to throwing up transient false errors when the battery begins to die, which can happen after just four or five years. Unfortunately the problem is often not recognised by owners, or even Audi dealers sometimes, because the car will still start normally. If there is one thing Cillene could do at little or no cost it is to have the 12 volt battery professionally tested. I stress professionally because a simple multimeter voltage reading will not reveal a dying battery.

Upholsterer
To be fair, I doubt each of them would be familiar with your car and how much of it is upholstered. They will need to see it and measure what is present.

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
In that case I can only suggest getting it tested independantly. Like many others you have been severely let down by Audi, and until there is a unified approach by owners in a similar position I see little chance of persuading the company to yield.

New Spare Key
An internet search instantly showed me ten car locksmiths in the Cardiff area who serve the public. Many of them are mobile and will attend your home. Expect to pay a few hundred pounds to a reputable company.

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
Cillene I refer you to AlexR's post from a few days ago, which suggests checking a government website for eligibility of your vehicle. If your car matches the criteria, present it as evidence to your Audi dealer.

A5 B10 Secure non-drill fixing
At only a year old the car should still be under guarantee. Let the dealer sort it out at his expense.
-
New Spare Key
I am under the impression that dealers are obliged to supply two keys per vehicle. Am I wrong? Nevertheless if you want to purchase a key yourself there are plenty of car key specialists around who can duplicate your key. Try an internet search for your region.

W12 Timing Chain
How much do you want the car? How deep are your pockets? In another topic you suggested its OP should get rid of his car because of the cost of timing belt/chain replacement.

Thanks. I hope Fraser will do the same.

Loosing coolant
Steve. If it is a diesel there is a fair chance that the DPF cooler is leaking into the engine. Do you get white smoke from the exhaust?

Emergency Call Function Fault
Contact a workshop and get the car scanned for errors.

Intermittent faults
Unfortunately that's all too common. If the computer says "no" you have little hope. Try to find an independant old school VAG garage where brains and experience still exist alongside the electrickery. Have you considered getting the battery tested? If it is still the original it will be in terminal decline, and may be responsible for the faults.
