  1. I'm having a similar issue with my a6 and have it booked in on Wednesday. In my case the alarm is going off too as well as central locking not working. When I had a similar issue. 4 years ago it was the drivers door mechanism that had failed abd it cost £120 to fix from an auto electrician. The driver door mechanism controls the rest of the central locking. It'll be going to an auto electrician this time too, however I Know it's more serious than last time.
  2. No probs 🙂 does have pictures too. We didn't do any dismantling and felt we achieved a good result.
  3. You're most welcome 😊 it's what we're here for 👍
  4. Just done a search, might not be as expensive as I thought! https://cartronix.co.uk/product-category/manufacturers/audi/ £175 ain't bad.
  5. No probs
  6. Keep us posted on how you get on 👍
  7. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ If you're referring to the one in the center of the instrument cluster, then the only option is by a new display which can be bought and fitted by a specialist. But it's not cheap. Alternatively you'll have to get a set of replacement instrument cluster and have it coded to the car along with the ECU Cheers Steve
  8. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ Take a look under the modification section as you'll find a step by step guide to painting calipers that I did 👍 also if it hasnt got apple car play I think you'd be looking at £650 approx to have it fitted. Cheers Steve
  9. Sorry it should say "an auto electrician". Best way to find a local one is via Google or local adverts. Your mechanic could be right to be fair.
  10. My advice would be to change the battery first. As you might find that's actually the cause of the problem.
  11. Not from personal experience on the q7 but wheels that size will make the ride very firm.
  12. I'll ha e a look at a good meeting point. We all met in a carpark the first year they did it. Ten rolled in together.
  13. Various issues can cause the roof to stop working such as failing hydraulic pump, failing switches or clamps for example. At least you've confirmed that the movement of the roof isn't affected (often caused by objects getting jammed in the mechanics of the roof) which is a bonus. It might be worth getting an auto electrician to test the roof to establish what might have failed.
  14. Water in the tail lights could caused by failing light seals. Ideally these should be replaced, but a cheap bodge (not that I recommend such things) is to add a bead of silicone to the seals.
  15. If the module is failing then yes. Maf sensor won't be connected. However out of curiosity how old is the battery? I ask as a failing battery can cause odd electrical gremlins. The normal life of a battery is between 5-7 years.
  16. Keep us posted in how you get on 🙂
  17. Worth seeing if the box is the cause. Don't worry it's not stupid at all, makes me think of all the stuff I normally carry around in the boot lol. If not the box then yes the actuator helps the boot open.

  19. So it could be a maf sensor or oxygen sensor. If it was an abs sensor it would normally say. Might be worth looking for a second hand module before forking out for a new one As I do t think it'll be cheap
  20. Hey Ann I think there's an actuator to open the boot which can fail. Also its worth checking to see if there's anything trapped behind the rear seats or in the boot. We've seen cases on here where a shoe was stopping the roof going down.
