When was the battery last changed? A failing battery can though up odd electrical faults. Might be worth getting it checked.

I know on the s tronic auto box a similar issue can occur when the gearbox oil needs changing. Might be worth looking at? Alternatively the gear linkage for 1st could be loose which would prevent the gears being selected.

This could be an issue with the aerial or the transmitter. Best advice would be to get an auto electrician to take a look.

Yep it should just play. Also When it does I think the track list will come up (not some name just a list 1-10 (for example) abd then you can select the one you want.

To be fair most adverts are crap. There really is a dumbing down of people in society, mainly through English language. Especially when you think of the vocabulary used 50, 60, 70 years ago.

Cars had more colour in general back in the 70s. Compared to all this dreary silver, grey, black, white etc. I appreciate my Audi is grey lol but non the less I'd like to see more colour on the road 🙂

From memory you should put the CD in and it should work. My dad had an 8v abd there wasn't anything special you had to do. Sounds like it's not working to me. My advice would be to get a diagnostic check carried out to see if there are any fault codes. Or get an auto electrician to take a look.

For any remap I'd recommend a tuner with a rolling road for best results. Don't worry I thought your English was good 🙂

Definitely worth getting a hpi check done or aa check etc. Has it for air suspension? If so make sure it works on all settings. Also check to see when the gearbox oil was last changed as old gearbox oil can cause the s tronic box not to shift into all gears. Usually reverse. Check to see that the same brand of tyres are matching, as well as even tread on each axle as mismatched tyres or uneven you're wear can damage the quattro system. Also there are some good YouTube buyers guides you can watch will give you invaluable advice 🙂

Where's the best place to source it Steve? Can you get it off the shelf or do you have to order it online. I ask as I'll need some before the 19th for the roadtrip.

You're welcome. You could always try adding dpf/egr cleaning additives when you refuel to see if that helps 🙂

My advice would be to look at ebay but either Germany or UK or elsewhere.

That's strange. I wonder wether it's due to the rarity of the Q8 (it's rare in the uk at least).

That I'm not sure. I can't see why not. I've never heard of a dealer protecting a car when being exported. Usually the car is exported then any modifications that are required to make it road legal for that country are made when it arrives. Such as lights for example. But the dealer would have no reason modding it regarding it's spec unless on safety grounds depending on the rules in that country if that makes sense.

As you've seen in the other thread I think your adjuster cable has come loose or snapped.

Definitely worth a shot with an auto electrician first.

Hi Ronny, my understanding of the current sat nav systems was that it had to be plugged into a computer at the main dealer linked directly to Germany which would then upgrade the map.

Might be worth getting a diagnostic check carried out. You've done a good job so far to rule out certain things. It could be a module or remote central locking receiver that's failed. With the issues I've had with my central locking I had to get an auto electrician to take a look.
