  4. Glad it's sorted Tommie. I can confirm that there was never an engine sharing agreement between the VAG group and Saab. Saabs engines were old designs if I recall and the 1.8 petrol was loosley the same engine as was in the triumph dolomite Sprint!
  5. Nice one Graham I'll put you down as paid :)
  6. Glad to hear this Rob :) sounds like you'll be collecting your Audi soon :)

Welcome to the forum Craig you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Have you had a diagnostic check carried out at all? And if so what (if any) fault codes come up? Im also assuming you've changed the key fob battery even though it's highly unlikely to be this. I would guess it's the module playing up but a diagnostic check would confirm this. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  13. Hi Kapil, Sorry to hear your having issues. With regard to the software updates Audi have done, this is quite normal and all vag cars will gave software updates available from time to time. However it is clear that no software update is going to solve this issue. Have Audi changed the gearbox oil? And have they done a diagnostic check? If so what (if any) codes cropped up? And is the issue continuous or is it intermittent problem? If it is intermittent than this could explain why Audi haven't found the fault. My advice for you is to go out with the technician to show the fault. Also when the car goes into Audi make sure you have a courtesy car as that way you have some insurance in terms of ransom (I'll return the courtesy car once you've found the fault etc). It does sound to me that the gearbox needs to be taken out to be inspected in my opinion. And especially if all other options have been exhausted. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  14. Hi Matt welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Usually the bulbs are a twist type and normally removing parts such as the air box or piping should make it easier. That's what I've found on my a6. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  15. Welcome to the forum David, You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Sorry to hear of your situation, and I have to agree with Tom on this. I would argue that if it was fuel contamination then they should be replacing all the fuel lines as well but the fact they are not on the bill I find odd. I used to work at a Volkswagen service department and you had to change the fuel lines, hoses, pumps and everything except the tank. The bill sounds about right and any trusted garage who know you should be happy with you to buy the parts independently. Sorry I can't help more Cheers Steve
  16. You're welcome :) Sorry I can't help anymore though and I'm unsure where the vacuum tank is to be honest. Cheers Steve

Don't think we have one planned currently, but we're still putting the 2018 meetings together :) You're more than welcome to organise one :) What location did you have in mind :) Cheers Steve
  18. That is good news!! You might still.be able to buy.it cheaper than £300! ;) What has your dad said? Did you.know there is a £50 annual subscription to the site though :(
  19. Well I've only compared it to my experience of my sisters golf. And I did see the turbo fan which had blades broken and meant the car didn't run 100% all of the time. But I could be/and probably will.be wrong but I've based it on my.own experience.
