I did use normal tablets salt which did absorb quite a bit of moisture but was recommended the coarse salt so will see if that's better 🙂 Thanks Cliff 🙂 when I was looking at dehumidifiers I was shocked at the difference in running costs. For example the one I've chosen will cost around £175 per year if run all year round. Whereas the 4l one I was originally going to get was going to cost £525 a year to run! Thank you for the suggestion of the calcium chloride, I'll definitely give that a go. Not going to lie, I'm slightly worried about running a dehumidifier in the car to be honest, but need must to preserve the car.

Thanks for that. Without sounding thick, can the salt by dried out and reused? Never seen dehumidifiers in our Poundlands!

As you will all know my A6 has now been stood sometime and has started to get condensation inside the cabin. I fear this is going to start doing damage as I noticed one of my interior window stickers has started to go mouldy. I must add, I do have the car covered with a tarpaulin (not a car cover as I still wanted the car to breath so the tarp covers the roof and tops of the doors to where the glass meets the door skin. I've have experimented with salt and one of the moisture bags which did clear some of it. Since then I have placed coarse salt inside tupperware containers and placed them on the dash and I have invested in a Silent night 2L dehumidifier. I'll keep you posted on how I get on. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. In some case a software update fixes the issue but don't be surprised if the unit has failed.

We've seen lately older Audi's (2002 models roughly) with rotten front subframes. Not seen any q5s on here yet though so yours is the first. You might be better getting a second hand one.

As it's under warranty this should go back to Audi for a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Besides the sensors there could be wiring. Have you checked the fuse?

Have the injectors or injector seals been checked? I appreciate this is more for diesel smell rather than exhausts but if it's running rich then that win help. Has it had a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up? I'm assuming the exhaust system and cat has been checked?

Nice one, at least we're in the right track. So either turbo or the sensor. Dhd you check the boost pipes?

I wasn't sure either, I was thinking more along the lines of a new one being fabricated.

Don't forget dpf and egr issues with diesels too. As you've highlighted service history is key, and in a car this age you'll be looking to see cambelt and water pump change, gearbox oil services etc. make sure all electrical items work. Have you watched buyers guides on YouTube?

Credited to Frank Montesinos: "Figured I'd post this in case it helps someone else. If you've had what sounds like a buzzy/blown center speaker on the dash, it might just be the grille vibrating. It was really bad with loud phone calls. I just pulled the grill/vent trim piece and added small, thin felt pads. I first just did it mostly around the speaker, but still had some minor buzzing, so I went back and added more. For reference, this is a 2013 A6 3.0T with the Bose system."

Cliff does raise a very good point. You should get a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up

I'd advise against st this kind of thing as all it's doing is tricking the ECU into thinking the conditions it's assessing are different to what they actually are. You'd be better with a proper remap done on a rolling road.

It might just be one of the boost pipes leaking or split. Check where it joins up as they can flex here when under pressure

It has to be the exact same part number for it to work properly. If looking on eBay don't forget to include international sellers. See if you can open it up and dry it out.
