  1. Try again. does the spacer fit snugly to the lip on th hub, does the lip on the spacer fit snug to the wheel? My guess is that one of them doesn't!
  2. Makes sense. Do the spacers fit flush to the actually hub? I.e. The hole in the spacer is the same size as the bit it sits on. Lol, I can't explain this one in English. I will look up a pic.
  3. In truth there are 3 influences. 1 film and 2 programs from childhood and two in adulthood. Herbie goes to Monte Carlo. Sparked my love for scirocco's The Saint, P1800 and XJS Guilty pleasure is Knight rider. I fell in love with Pontiacs and and Trans ams. ( where is the emoji for cringe?) But my two favourite car films in adulthood are, gone in 60 seconds and the remake of the Italian Job.
  4. Try 247spares.co.uk, you will get over a hundred car breakers attention that way. I am sure you would get one through this service or the other few that are available
  5. Fair enough on what you have found out for 115bhp. You would think it would be the same. I just did a google search for the 1.6 105 ( sweet engine btw!!) and it said 2013 on- 4.3 litres. But you are right the dipstick is what you need to use as a gauge. The 507 is a great oil. Use it in my T5 and the Audi. Expensive yes, I pay £65 for 20 litres. Quantum. But use nearly 40 litres a year. But for peace of mind it's great. A lot of people on the T5 forum ask if they still need to use it when they do a DPF delete but I would always say yes as it keeps it lube properties for ages.
  6. If it is the exhaust, internal, then you could go old school. Have the car safely raised so you can go underneath. While she is ticking over use a large screwdriver, hold it to the exhaust silencers and the handle to your ear. You will be able to pin point literally the exact bit that is rattling. Obviously you would need to replace that silencer. is it was a missfire you would feel it when driving away, especially at low speeds I would have thought.
  7. That's a good result then. Maybe a selector fork or a sleeve etc was not fully submerged in oil, hence the chatter you could hear. 👍
  8. I have just looked this up and it says 4.3 litres. Are you sure it wasn't a 4 ltr can that you had and not a 5 ltr? I would have thought that a full 5 litres would have over filled by a mile? i wood phone Audi. Tomorrow and ask them wha the oil capacity is.
  9. Well great news that the trip went well. I bet there were a few monents when your heart was in your mouth though. i don't have a wiring diagram unfortunately but hopefully someone will have one for you.
  10. Your exhaust sounds like it's rattling on something. But there is a girdling noise too by the sounds of it. can you hear any noise from the air filter housing? Take the lid off and filter out. Start her up and see how she sounds there.
  11. Might be easier to get a propshaft made up to complement a gearbox and the back axle. Unless there is a gearbox that suites. Are you just doing rear wheel drive or 4wd though?
  12. People will be hesitant to comment on this one. I think gone has the day where you can use only old oil in these finely engineered mechanical components. You might be lucky and it might of been a chatter because the oil level was low. I do dought that the oil type used would have caused wear damage in just a couple of miles. But I would drop the oil and put the correct one in before you drive it again. I am guessing it's a manual, if it is you could consider using an additive like ZX1 to help prevent future wear.
  13. Final suggestion from me, if you have a DPF delete I would opt for a dummy box and insist on keeping the old one. If the proposed changes to the emissions test for MOT does come in, you may need to refit it to pass!!
  14. Welcome to the forum..... gloat away. Mine is a 2006 and I love it. Pulls like a train, everything works and my ex wife thinks it worth loads more money than it is. Win win lol. Only down side is my partner (lady in blue) says all Audi drivers are idiots!! Something I can live with 😏
  15. There is one of those driving around up here Trevor. See it most weeks, though the rust is moving in on it a bit. I have always fancied a go in one of them and I bet they would make a good track day car!?!
  16. A grand is a good budget to work with actually. Mr Q is definately right about the remap, you should get 230-250 BHP quite easily with standard turbo but the IC would need upgrading too. I believe the turbo would then become your first limiting factor. I am not sure when you would need to upgrade injectors on this engine. Personally I don't think you need to upgrade the exhaust unless you want to go way past 300bhp. Speak with a local Pendle agent http://www.pendleperformance.com/agents.php ( link for finding your nearest one. They are really good with VAG software. Dont muck about with performance air filters, they are a bit of a con. Give your car a good service, fresh fuel air and oil filters OEM!! And an oil change. Then get it remapped. And a new IC if wanting to go over 230bhp. A bloke got his 3.0 TDI to over 400bhp, so there is great scope for these V6's. :D
  17. Definately the saloon. I just loved them because when they came out the rozzers had to buy them because nothing else could keep up with them. Fastest allecerating car 30-70 mph or something like that wasn't it? BMW killer lol
  18. Genuinely pleased the turbo has sorted it for you👍
  19. Sob stories are good lol. Kind of the theory behind the thread. You have just reminded me of my wish to have a Volvo T5R in yellow. Do you remember them???
  20. How did you get on with the Batmobile??
  21. In the theme of 'what else do you drive', what are the ones that passed you by, wished you had bought or even worse - never sold. For me there's 1 I should have never sold, -My mk11 Scirocco. Only a 1.6 GL but I loved her. Silver and Pirelli P alloys. I sold her and she was in a smash 9 days later :-( And one I should have bought. -Number 10 of the first 12 built Jenson Interceptor, think it had a 7.2 ltr V8. I found out this was the UK promo car (1 of 2 from memory). It had Maserati door handles as Jenson didn't have the new ones in time to put on the cars. £50. Yep £50. It was quite rotten though, like a flintstones car feet on floor lol. I was too Yong and had no space to store it. I wonder what it would be worth today though back on the road?
