  1. It would be great to have some events up over the border. A great venue would be the Knockhill race track near Kinross, about 30-40 mins North of Edinburgh. It's about as central for Scottish population without being to far North for people south of the border. Food for thought.
  2. Hey Steve. i would have actually enjoyed doing this but reality is it's over 500 miles away from where I am. Are there ever any meets/events further North at all. If so I would definitely be game. KR Dan
  3. Give Mackies in Tollcross Glasgow a call. 0141 778 4545 they are a great company to deal with and they will give good advice. VAG policy seems to say Haldex and autogearboxes are sealed for life. Strange then that there are so many independent companies out there servicing them!! Lol. be great if you would post up your results though as I have not yet dealer with any haldex issue, good or bad!
  4. White smoke is usually caused mainly by two things on a diesel. The first obvious one is water. But, if water level is not going down at all then the latter is not likely. However keep an eye on it as likely cause would be head gasket. Take of oil filler cap, is there loads of mayonnaise like deposits on it? If so water is definately in the oil. The second is diesel, leaking injector seals being the most likely. But sticking injectors might be a cause also. I would put a good quality injector cleaner in the fuel in the mean time to see if it helps.
  5. I actually think it sounds like the turbo impellar is vibrating at higher revs. Just due to wear, it comes into contact with the sides. Obviously first step is to clean but I do think you will to replace turbo before long. look up Wheeler Dealers Saab turbo episode. is your car between 60 - 70k by any chance?
  6. So, no fault codes logged by ECU!?! Frustrating to say the least. A good pal has leant me a reader that I can have plugged in for live data for a few weeks, will see if anything occurs while I have it. Brad-B5 you seemed to know this issue as you stated it on someone else post regarding a misfire. Can you comment on what you believed it was Mate? As always in faults like this no idea is stupid and is gratefully received. Dan
  7. Just spoken with local garage about the proposed MOT change on particulate measuring and he said there is still nothing in the pipelines for it to be introduced so maybe a DPF delete could be ok for you. He said buy an aftermarket system though and keep the DPF just in case it does come in. But for now only the ✅ for 'DPF is present' is all that's required. So, please ignore what I said in lost post. Sorry.

Now a resto project. 1972 TVR Vixen 2500. Bought this as a resto project. Has new chassis and engine. Overdrive gear box. Lots done but lots to do still. 9. Due to new MOT particulates test to be introduced this year I am not so sure DPF delete is the best way forward. Has anybody any news on when the new regs are due in? i know there are quite a few chaps running T5's with deleted DPF's wishing they had kept theirs t be able to refit. personally I would just do a forced DPF regen more often to keep it clean.
  10. "Stucked" is that a typo? Just love autocorrect sometimes. turbos on these cars are a very common failure. Key sign that turbo is on its way out (fault codes indicate that) is limp mode that resets itself when you switch car of and then start it up again, all should be well. If it occurs frequently then you have choice to:- clean turbo. Many products available but you need to clean both sides or turbo really for it to be affective. Not so easy to do on the hot side!?! rebuild ou turbo with a new core get a refurbed unit ( my recommendation) get a new one (big 💰) Your car looks lovely and is definately worth spending on. I have recently done just this on my T5 except I upped the turbo size from 130 BHP to 174bhp. Did the work myself with a total cost of £300. I bought a referb Garret unit. hope that helps a bit.
  11. Russian roulette mate. Probably the most important bit of rubber on your car. Rather pay £600 now than 2.5k in 6 months time. But then that is only my opinion. Plus I would do it myself so I would only have the cost of the items. why not try a few independent garages that are VAG specialists, might save some 💰
  12. In the theme of this thread, got the A6 s-line in Sept last year. It's the model I have hankered for for many a year. Love the clean lines the C6 has. It's silver but has an Ignis white/ black vinyl wrap and you really have to know your A6's to work out its age. Only things I have done so far myself is powder coat the standard 18's black and get 4 new grippy Uniroyal rain tyres. Have also bought a like new armrest with Audi phone, still need to fit this to appease my OCD. I know a bit sad but I like it. Now need to sort this misfire it's developed. Other than that a good service for now.
  13. Holy cow!!! Batmans next ride!!! you must need Velcro on the gloves and grips...... or superglue!
  14. 10:1 it's the sensor!! if your really worried, use an additive like ZX1. Really good product to help protect the insid e if the engine. good luck
  15. I love A5's, on looks don't do too much. Maybe slightly larger wheels and then a remap? And then some good tyres to keep her firmly stuck to the tarmac (asphalt). A5's are stunning in the first place.
  16. My pal has listened to, he said check timing too!
  17. It's really difficult to make it out. Actually sounds quite good lol. Pick up is quite good though. Let's hope it's something simple.
  18. TBH not cheap. But I will take it with me when I sell the T5 for the next one. I have SAt nav built into the A6 already and other than an aux socket it will do for the minimal miles I do in that each year. About 5k. Compared to the 50k in the bus!! I paid, r u sitting down!! £900 for the AVIC F88. But it really is the very best on the market. Easy to use etc etc etc. If I keep it for 10 years that's £90 a year for the best. i think you can get the F980 for approx £700, Like I mentioned before it's basically a different screen and this is the model I would have had. Also the AVIC F80 is about £800. fitted it myself in approx 90 mins but it may be a little easier in the T5 than you car. As I said give Absolut5 a ring (01980 624740) and they will give you the correct advice for your cars requirements. Plus other units that might also tick all the right boxes. But I say again you can't beat the pioneer units at the moment for all round performance. best of luck.
  19. Cheers Mr Q. it def has a good feel to the forum. Dan
  20. You might get some specific responses if you tell us which Audi you have mate? Is it stock or have a few things been done already? Do you want to upgrade looks and or performance?
  21. Out of interest where is the diagnostic plug on the car please?
  22. Pioneer make the best double din sat nav all in one units. The best one is the AVIC F88. But very pricey. The 780 does almost all the F88 does but I had to pay the extra for the 88 in my T5 because of the angle and the 780 screen disappears when the sun shines on it. Not a problem though in the Audi. have a look at Absolut5, speak with a boy called Jason and he will give unbiased advice. They also can provide DAB Aerial and the correct wireing harness for your car. I love my unit, I justified the cost because of Bluetooth and potential 6 points for phone use. Well that's what I told our lass anyway🤥
  23. Cheers Trevor, Even though the warning light never came on I would assume the ECU would log a misfire. Going to have to take it on Thursday as local garage is closed today.
