  2. Well, I ran the adaptation last night, and have been for a drive today. For sure the throttle response is massively better than it was, and no light. However, it was sometimes going a week without showing so time will tell. Will let you know 🤞🏼
  3. Took the plunge and did something I’ve wanted to do for a long time… proud owner of an S3… what a car.
  4. Today
  5. Wanted- a6 4.2 v8 , anywhere in UK! Thankyou
  6. The manifold and flap motor came together. Whilst the genuine Audi product was unaffordable, I went for a new EBay aftermarket unit which comes with 2 years warranty, thinking that I didn’t want to take a chance with a second hand unit. i have a VCDS but no where does it give me an option to carry out adaptation of the unit. I am able to turn the flap motor on and off manually and do an overall test Any ideas as to how to get the adaptation done and using what tool?
  7. Hi pretty straight forward if you look at the second picture the tab in front of you has no locking hook, that is the position tab which is lower and wider than the rest so if you find the reciprocal slot on the vent once located it should just push in. Steve.
  8. Did you solve this is have the same problem
  9. Gordan. Joe has not returned to the forum for eight years so it's unlikely he will reply. However I thought his final report fully explained the problem and its cure quite well.
  10. Just fyi - I can remap my car up to an additional 25% with no increase in premium through Admiral. Ordinarily, that would be the limit of what is achievable and would be fine. In this case, of course, it is more like a 40% increase that is achievable. I was told by Admiral that was uninusrable and when I asked Phantom Tuning in Kent if they could add tweak the map so that it only upped the power to 360bhp they said they were not able to do that. Fair enough - I am sure there is a tuner out there who could, but it might be more expensive. Shame as for a one off cost of £250 and no increase in insurance premium (and konwing the map was well within tolerance and yet would still be noticeable) I would have gone ahead.
  11. As for my opinion, I reckon it's worth exploring different options to get your horn back in action. Whether it's fixing the current one or going for that air horn upgrade, safety comes first, right? But always stay street legal, no need to get on the wrong side of the law!
  12. Hi all. Does anyone know of someone or someplace that can do VCDS recoding in the North East. I was all set to go to a nice chap called Claudio at VCDS Diagnostics until I realised he was 271 miles away. I am needing my head unit removed and recoded to UK spec from Japan as well as a few other little jobs. Any help appreciated
  13. Thanks Ali, Did you ask your mechanic to estimate the work involved? Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. Yesterday
  15. Struggled to find a supplier and in the end ran out of time as I was topping up virtually every day.
  16. Welcome Frank, and thanks for joining. You will hopefully get other views to help you make your decision. I must admit that I am not basing my comments on personal experience, but on that gained by an elderly friend, who was totally disappointed with the ride comfort of a newish S Line - chosen by his children - due to its ‘look’. I think, but I’m not certain, that Audi seem to link the attractive specifications and ‘toys’ with the S Line, so if you want these attractive features then you have to ‘put up with’ the harsher ride quality. It’s worth examining these cars in terms of possible low profile, possibly XL load rated tyres often associated with larger wheels, which further aggravate the ride quality. Technik? Sorry Frank - no knowledge. Does this all boil down to style vs ride quality -as you think? I feel it likely does, so the decision has to be made to go with which of these two is most important to you. Please remember that this is a one-person opinion, but possibly includes a couple of pointers to guide your options while you await other advice. Good luck and kind regards, Gareth.
  17. Hi for all you folks out there with Adblue tank problems mainly caused by crystals in the system, level sensors and delivery pipes, had a good long look at this product and what it does and its been very successful when used on lorries and is now available for cars, adding approx £11-14 on to your adblue fill its still cheaper than a new system that you can only get from Audi. Steve.
  18. Get a smoke test done on it if you suspect a boost leak.
  19. I recently saw an R8 in my town Balfron. Local member or visitor from elsewhere in the UK?
  20. Shut off timer showing car was shut off 11561s….3.2 hours….definitely was not!
  21. Sorry to hear another tale of woe. Audi told me they no longer have a ‘no charge’ warning lamp as it is no longer a European requirement. Another law made up by some bureaucrat in Brussels who goes to work on a bike.
  22. I have just purchased a Bluetooth adapter from eBay, it connects to the CD auto changer socket. I have just had my friendly mechanic program the radio to have an auto changer but it still doesn’t work. The Bluetooth connects to my phone but I cannot select the auto changer to play music. Somehow the radio does not recognise the device.
  23. So, I picked up the car from Birmingham on Tuesday having sold the B8.5 A4 Avant on the Monday. My apologies first off. Its a limited edition S-Line. What that means is that it has; virtual cockpit, HUD, in-car wireless charger, 19" alloys and improved lights. The engine is a peach and pulls the car in a deceptively rapid fashion. Frugal too! Topped up after collecting and taxing, with the indicated range some 620 miles to the tank. In reality this was 550, with 50 left before I refuelled. That said, I was using the gear paddles a lot driving through Wales. Ended up at Diddly Squat Farm, who some of you may know belongs to a certain J Clarkson. It was sodding closed. My own fault for not checking. Then Caffine and Machine before meeting up with an old buddy in Sutton Coldfield, meal pint and a chinwag to catch up. Next day, headed to Wales and the Mach Loop. Got buzzed by 6 F-15 Eagles as I climbed the hill. Literally 50-60 ft above me though bring up the hill, they were still at the 100ft above the road. Scared the cr*p out of as they were on top of you with only a second or two before you heard them. Concentrating on my footing, they took me well and truly by surprise! Then went onto the EVO triangle. Bit of a disappointment, due to speed cameras everywhere. I can understand it, but it did spoil the drive a bit. Scenery going past Snowdonia on way to Holyhead made up for it. Ferry to Dublin, and done. Glad I bought it, and its a massive step forward compared to the old B8.5 Technik SE I had previously. Going to fit some proper rubber to it. Ying Yang ditch finders fitted atm, so Michelin Cross Climate 2 are my choice. Hunter Laser alignment check to follow. Might get it detailed and ceramic coated. I've queries on the SIM card; apparently Audi are suffering supply problems with car SIM cards. Can I use any PAYG data sim? Also looking to replace the trim spear that runs on the left side of the centre (gear selector, drinks holder) console, some scuffs and scratches. Anyone know of where I can get these aside from the dealerships?
  24. Same thing has been happening to my car 2011 Audi a3 8p. The end of last summer. And now present start of summer (end of spring). Dashlights out, car shuts off completely. After cooling down between 2-20 min possibly it’ll start. And stall when it reaches a certain temp while driving it.
  25. Hi, I too had this problem and was told by a friend to purchase a Bluetooth radio car kit wireless transmitter. This bypasses the issue altogether and is a relatively simple, cheap solution, with the same reliable media/call features that connects to your car Bluetooth. Audi has always been dogged with these connectivity problems with their MMI systems because of the constantly changing world of mobile phone technology. Martin
  26. Might it be the temperature sensor referenced here? https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-c7-platform-discussion-194/mystery-button-climate-control-2824594/
  27. Last week
