Hi. Just received a letter from Audi UK recalling my car yet again. "Checking High Voltage Battery" The car has to be in the workshop for at least 4 days, Audi say that you WILL be given a courtesy car, but we will see if Audi South East renege on this as usual to me. On reading the letter it seems that the car will need to go into the workshop for 4 days for battery checks every 90 days until they release the new delayed diagnosis soft ware. Until then it says "Do not charge beyond 80%". So now I have a car which which cost me £85k, and will be in and out of the workshop and only 80% range. Tony

Hello, Hopefully someone here has managed to disassemble one of these control heads. I have managed all except for the last step on this 8X0.035.183.F from a 2014 A1. The middle switch is defective but I have found the exact replacement part 62AGY22033. I just cannot remove the circuit boards as shown in the photo. Two screws attaching the board have been removed but it won’t budge. There is an odd looking plastic extrusion just under the board that I suspect may be some sort of release but nothing I have tried works. I’m afraid to apply too much force. The metal chassis surrounding the board is loose from the front plate but is stopped by the CB from coming off. Thanks in advance if anybody knows the answer! Peter

The cleanliness, part numbering and yellow paint suggest the engine has been newly rebuilt. Unfortunately as a private sale the vendor has little obligation to fix the leak unless you can show written evidence that he has deceived you regarding the engine condition.

Audi A6c8 rear spring lower mounting corrosion
dalswinton replied to Mickwillow's topic in Audi A6 (C8) Forum
Had this happen on my previous A4 Allroad about 2 years ago, only it was the o/s/r. I know at least another 2 people who have had to change the o/s/r mount due to it breaking up. so it pays to keep an eye on them. -
Had my dealer retrofit the stowable Audi Tow Bar. Works fine and has also added a ‘Tow Bar’ function to the MMI Reversing Camera that shows an orange line and dot where the tow bar is. i gather the software also modifies the Stability Control function to optimise handling with a caravan under tow. It also adds a caption showing if the tow bar is not safely locked. When towing a different set of green indicator lights shows on the instrument panel when indicating. Wish I had ordered this at build as the retrofit was costly. The parts were around £1200 plus a hefty chunk of labour.

Will Definitely need to Drop the bumper corner which is not to hard a job, I would source a 2nd hand light as while getting the headlamp Lense of is physically possible it is almost impossible

S3 Buying Advice Hey! Just sold my TT and now looking to replace it with a S3. I have some questions though that I can't seem to find answers to: Does anyone have a PDF brochure or spreadsheet for the 2020-2024 model? I keep seeing 'comfort and sound package' or 'technology package' in adverts but struggling to figure out what each actually add. Subscription Cost for the adaptive cruise. The car I tested had it but it was not active. The dealer couldn't give me a price. I would purchase the lifetime option. Screen sizes: Does anyone know the difference between the two instrument display sizes? Is it literally just the size or is there added functionality? Thank you!

Cheers. Thanks for letting us know

How have you fixed this. you could swop ballast and bulb from side to side and see if the fault moves with them or remains in the same headlamp. If the fault remains in the same headlamp then it narrows it down either a wiring fault inside the headlight which could be checked easily, failing that it could be a signal fault from the cars module to the headlamp which would require tracing wires from plug to module

I cans access your files but The evaporator is the main ac component behind the dash and changes fluid into gas to generate the chilling effect and is usualy silent, I have came across noisy heater boxes when ac in engaged but nothing to load. Too much gas in the system can cause a grinding noise from the ac pump at higher revs but this would be very noticeable

You need a good auto electrician for this not a workshop, from your description I would think your steering lock module is not powering up on request and this module is part of the security handshake required to enable engine crank,

Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
Mark2 replied to PocketsAintEmptyCuh's topic in Audi A7 Club
When I suggested to Audi they have a ‘ battery not charging ‘ light they told me this was no longer an EU build spec requirement. With so many systems requiring power you would think such a light should be even more important , but the Brussels mandarins who all go to work on a bike do not think so? -

I've been driving automatics for more than forty years, even the slow and sluggish changing ones, because I am a lazy driver. I never understood why folk would tolerate a metal pole sticking up from the floor that they had to wriggle around like stirring a pan of porridge just to make the car go from A to B.

I am not sure that is possible. There is a legal requirement in what used to be the Construction and Use Regulations for the indicators to be clearly audible, so I doubt the volume would be adjustable by a user. Can you tell us why you want to turn it up? Do you have a hearing problem? Is there other noise in the car drowning out the indicators?

Hi all. I'm looking to purchase a 2017 S6 saloon. The one I am looking at has done 64k miles, had full Audi history, except for 2 services that were done at a Saab main dealer for some reason. Its up for 23k I am aware of common issues such as air suspension, and turbo screen problems. But, is there anything else I should look out for? Also, does anyone know where I can see a copy of the service schedule for these cars? What's due when etc... The dealer has a print out of when the services have been carried out and mileage, but no details as to what has actually been done. The main thing I am looking for is when the gearbox is due for a service, and if its been done, along with any other services that may be due on the rear diff. I've tried looking on line and with Audi but cant seem to find much. Thanks Dan

Thanks - However, last week had the dreaded StarterNator failure. I gave the Audi Dealer a copy of the Audi document that shows this fault is now covered FOC for cars up to 7 years old. Looking elsewhere on the forum, it appears that some Audi dealers appear not to be aware of this and some people have had to pay the associated very large bill. My car has a 9G8 reference in the build codes which meant it was covered. Text of the document as follows: Recall reference R/2020/265 Recall Type Car Recall Date 2020-10-02 Reason for concern MOISTURE MAY ENTER THE BELT DRIVEN STARTER-ALTERNATOR Reason for recall It is possible that moisture may enter the belt-driven starter-alternator. Remedy The starter-alternator must be replaced on the affected vehicles. How to check if the vehicle is recalled Contact the local AUDI dealership or manufacturer. You will not need to pay for anything involving the recall. How the manufacturer will repair The Recalled vehicles will have the fixing checked and corrected as necessary by and official AUDI service. AUDI Reference ID 27H8
