trying to strip some 18” alloys but having trouble
spartacus 68 replied to frankA38PA's topic in Wheels And Tyres
Refurburbishing alloys is a thankless task, and to be honest it’s one of these things best left to the professionals and powder coating, rebalance, etc. That’s different if it was just a scuff, but this is a full strip-down. The time, cost of materials, including zinc etch primer, base coat primer, colour coat and a few coats of lacquer soon mounts up. If you’re determined to do it, then the alloys need to be spotless. Paint wise, then Würth silver metallic is as close to Audi OE as you’ll get. - Today

Search on AliExpress for an Audi RNS-E replacement system...but mounting and connecting these Chinese systems requires some handy DIY-ing...

Hi sorry my BAD apparently from2014 on you do actually have to reset all end stop settings for all the motors and then re register the new motor, which will involve VCDS, sorry only a suggestion but if you intend to keep the car it might well be cheaper to buy the single VIN VCDS as should you need to upgrade to multi VIN at a later date all good, I have VCDS and OBDEleven but I could not find that function on it and I am pretty sure them and Carista share the same software Steve.

Sorry I should of said, it’s a 2017 S5 with automatic transmission. when the fault occurs my foot is on the brake only and not on the accelerator thanks

Indeed you do need help, but as mentioned earlier a meter or an electrician is necessary. Changing parts at random will be an expensive solution that may not solve anything.

Hello, Recently acquired an Audi A4 1.8T Convertible which for a 23 year old car seems in good all round order. Have a couple of newbie queries which I hope someone can advise on? 1. Do both rear fog lights illuminate? There is wiring to both and bulbs are good. Only offside one illuminates… 2.The boot lock works with the key but the central locking from the key doesn’t release the boot. There is noise but the lock doesn’t open to clearly something amiss internally - Any ideas? 3. I see there is a fridge available in the glove bos? Has anyone retro itted this and if so is it fairly straight forward? Thanks for any advice and look forward to any suggestions to help me Best regards, David👍

Glad to hear it. -
Hi all. Yes. It’s chain. Air filter was changed at my request when I bought it. Only done 15,000 since then. Brake fluid due to be changed at service in May 2026. I’m getting a freebe but cost is normally £90. Local garage quoted same.

I think this is a common problem. Don't people usually remove them?

2.0 TDI rattle sound when press the gas or release it,
Steve Q replied to Ori's topic in Audi A4 (B8) Forum
Could be a heat shield rattling on the exhaust. Or an issue with the suspension arms when underload. -
You're best bet is to get the system pressure checked and trgassed first.

Welcome Sergiu, What is the actual issue with your alternator? Does the car have full (Audi) history, with no services missed on not carried out on time? Have you read the ‘small print’ in your Extended Warranty’ which usually allows them to get out from under a snakes belly with a top hat on!? Current mileage? Regards, Gareth.

Hello Allan, Gates are the manufacturer and not the supplier to the public. If you go into EBay you will find a number of sellers selling this hose. ACS is just one. Another company worth looking at would be Parts in Motion ( Exeter). They are motor factors and supply moulded/ bent Gates hoses for a number of vehicles. Kind regards, Gareth.

Thanks Dan.

Yep I'd say so for ages miles of the car and glow plugs. You could always get a second opinion.

Thank you for the update. Glad it might just be the gearbox oil.

I can't help, but others may be able to if you mention the brand and model number of your purchase. -
Hi I am pretty sure you can change the headlight configuration of the beam using VCDS I did this last year on a 2011 A4 cabriolet that was going to live in Spain. Steve.
