  2. That's good. As I say it's the airbag wiring connectors that MUST be the same.
  3. That's fantastic news, glad you got sorted and glad you've found the forum helpful and useful 🙂

  5. Hello! I have a problem with my 2013–2016 Audi A4 B8.5 2.0 TDI 177 hp Quattro 6-speed manual. I’m getting the "Steering Lock: Contact Workshop" error on the dashboard. In VCDS, the error appears in 05 - Acc/Start Auth. as 03026 - Enabling Terminal 15 with faults 006 and 009 (Short to Ground / Short to Plus). The ignition turns on, but after pressing the clutch and pushing the key again, the car doesn’t even attempt to crank. Instead, it turns the ignition off. If I hold the clutch pedal down with the key in the ignition slot, it eventually starts after multiple attempts—sometimes on the second try, sometimes on the 20th. This error and starting issue are intermittent. If I clear the error or disconnect the battery, it works for 1–2 days (or less). The battery is fine; it was replaced last year and coded to the car. The steering lock also functions correctly—the wheel has never locked or failed to unlock. This issue occurred last year. The mechanic opened the plenum chamber under the windscreen, cleaned the cables in the junction box (center of the plenum) with sandpaper, and sprayed them with contact cleaner. I repeated this process this year, but it didn’t help, and the cables showed no visible oxidation. Worth noting: I’ve had drainage problems in the plenum chamber. Water pooled there because the drains were blocked. The issue happened last year during heavy rain and has recurred this year under similar conditions. Here is the VCDS scan for the 05 - Acc/Start Auth. (BCM2) module: (If needed I can provide a full scan for the car) Address 05: Acc/Start Auth. 6. It appears you can, you are 100% right. Matrix LED headlights Upgrade your headlights with Audi Matrix LED technology. Individual diodes automatically switch between dipped and main beam and provide maximum illumination of the road, without dazzling other road users. Light function package Unlock an extra lighting function that adapts to surroundings to enhance visibility when on motorways, cornering and at junctions. The Light function package also includes lighting ‘animations’ that play when locking and unlocking your car. High beam assist Upgrade to High beam assist to enable the headlights to automatically detect oncoming traffic, the rear lights of other road users and light sources in built-up areas. The High beam is switched on or off automatically, depending on the traffic situation.
  7. How did you get on?
  8. Sorry to hear of this situation. I believe the garage are telling you the truth. Bit on the safe side you could always get a second opinion
  9. THis is on another car site I visit ... not what one would expect !! https://www.facebook.com/reel/738784335385142 Shows how "noises" are difficult to quantify without examination !!
  10. Thanks Joe. Just didn’t want to resort to brute force and ignorance and wreck the thing. Thanks for the info…much appreciated. 👍
  11. It would appear that the poster is a 2 year subscriber, and it seems he cannot be warned for posting and never returning! Unless I have it wrong - let’s hope I have. So if anyone wants to adopt the same tactics then paying seems to be the way out of responding to requested advice! Correct?? Regards, Gareth.
  12. Thanks Glen, we take it you will post the result of the MOT.

  14. Glad you got sorted in the end 🙂
  15. Even though you're out of the 30 days you're still covered under the consumer law. If a fault occurs with a car or item in the first 6 months of purchase it is assumed the fault was there from when it was purchased. My brother is going through this now and getting his car fixed free of charge. It needed an abs pump (£3k bill!).
  16. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 looks a nice Audi 🙂
  17. all seems to point to steering angle sensor but could this be set off by a faulty wheel sensor??....i can hear a slight grating as i drive between houses....drivers side not sure front of back??.....my airbag light doesnt seem to want to go out ..it goes out for a second when my mate tried turning it off with his magic machine ....i dont wanna buy a steering sensor if i dont need one but i might have to
  18. Have the engine mounts and gearbox mounts been checked? As the movement could cause noise. Could it be something to do with liquid sloshing when I get loads and it throwing off the sensors? For example when I had an issue with my A6 washer bottle leaking it wouldn't always tell me it was low unless the washer fluid moved away from the sensor if that makes sense.
  19. Hi Gareth, Thanks for the feedback, I think you are right too!
  20. I'd definitely recommend speaking to the company that sold you it. Just in case they sold you the wrong parts to make it fit your dash.
  21. Keep us posted on how you get on
  22. Paul would you care to edit your last message. I think you omitted your own text as it contains nothing but quotations of the two previous messages.
  23. Seen loads of these stories. If selling a car make sure you're not alone. Make sure they either come alone or with one other person. Anymore people refuse to see them.
  24. Hello David, This thread originated 4 years ago, so could you start a new thread and clearly outline your symptoms -as you would if starting from scratch. Many thanks, Gareth
  25. You need to get a pry-bar on the suspension. Arms are usually good for around 80k miles. Upper arms possibly. An inspection of the engine and transmission mount would be worthwhile as suggested. If you are changing arms, Meyle HD or Lemforder only.
  26. Last week
  27. The clusters can't be swapped out easily as they have the imobiliser built in.
