Waussie2 started following A5 Headlight type and adjustment for EU
-
I have spent hours trying to determine what type of headlights our 2019 Audi A5 Diesel Sportback 35 TDI Sport 5d S Tronic has. To no avail. I am needing to know if they are Max LED and adaptive to EU driving? I've been onto Audi - and they are next to useless!! It's not in the user manual Our MMI has no option for adjusting exterior lights It can't be this hard.....:(((( Would appreciate any help please?

My classic Audi mechanic always tells me to buy Ferodo when buying brake parts, good quality and reasonable price.

saf124 started following Audi A3 8P - random stall whilst driving!

Hi, I have an issue with my A3 8P 1.6 TDI sportback where the car will randomly sometimes cut out or stall whilst driving. Usually the glowplug light will flash or i lose all power. It can happen 3 times in the space of a month, and sometimes won't happen for almost a year. Sometimes the car can restart itself again without a problem, sometimes will not be able to restart itself. Below are the codes i have received: 01 Engine Electronics 2 problems exist 1.P060100 Internal Control Module Memory Checksum Error Passive/Sporadic 2.P019300 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit - High Input Passive/Sporadic 03 Brake Electronics 1 problems exist 1.01314 Engine Control Module (ECM) Check DTC Memory 09 Electronic Central Electric 4 problems exist 1.00332 Activation For Tank Flap Short To Ground 2.01504 License Plate Lamp Defective 3.00446 Function Limitation Due To Insufficient Voltage Lower Limit Exceeded 4.01504 License Plate Lamp Open Or Short To Plus 19 Data Bus OBD Interface 2 problems exist 1.00470 Combination Comfort Databus In Single Wire Open Circuit 2.01304 Radio No Signal/Communication I also have the P0087 code too. I have replaced the Fuel Pump (located under the rear passener seat), the fuel pressure sensor, and also fuel filters have been changed. Can anyone help?

Okay thanks. I will visit a workshop to check the EGR Valve and clean it. I will post here once the service is done

it is not because my wheels are damaged , i just want to change them to 16" ones to get a better softer ride , 17" low profile ones give you a harsh ride , spoils the fun of the audi a1

Back again just started a refurb of front calipers, struts wishbones etc and will probably be replacing either the drive shafts as a whole or refurbing them with new joints but which manufacturers should I be looking to buy from as places like ebay are awash with different ones and I'd rather have decent quality items that are going to last but at a reasonable price. Cheers

Clutch going to floor after hard acceleration
Magnet replied to barleymagrew's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Thanks John. Pessimistic possibly, but my gut feeling is that any garage would simply! replace the clutch assembly, at very, very serious damages to your wallet. Have you got a pal etc. who can first check the arm operation and give it a dosing, before going to a garage? Regards, Gareth. -
Clutch going to floor after hard acceleration
barleymagrew replied to barleymagrew's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Hi Gareth, Thanks for the speedy reply. I will venture to my local garage, I think this is probably beyond my skills! Re reading what I wrote it's slightly wrong! So the pedal does return, however with my foot flat to the floor it is very hard to get it into gear, driving sedately it does recover slowly. Will let you know how things turn out thanks John -

Hello everyone! Here I am back with some major updates! I picked up the car from my mechanic after completing all the work mentioned earlier. The car is running great—in fact, I’ve already driven over 2,500 km with it since I bought it. There’s still a bit of uncertainty with cold starts, but aside from that, I’m really enjoying a solid and very pleasant car to drive on a daily basis. Over time, I’m noticing a few "notes" about the car, including: I replaced the tires with some high-performance (and fresh) Hankook ones, which significantly improved driving comfort. Unfortunately, I discovered that 3 out of 4 alloy wheels are bent and need to be repaired. Indeed, at around 100 km/h, there’s a strong vibration in the steering wheel, and after 3 balancing attempts, nothing has changed. Regarding the uncertain cold start, my mechanic and I first agreed to use four full tanks of diesel with the addition of Bardahl Top Diesel+. I’m currently on the fourth tank and the issue persists, so we’re going to try something stronger, like mineral oil for 2-stroke engines, to try to "unblock" and clean the Bosch pump from any accumulated sludge. If that doesn’t help, we’ll proceed with replacing the camshaft position sensor and, if necessary, overhaul the pump. Fuel consumption has finally settled into a very interesting range. In fact, I’m now getting 13 km/l (30 MPG). What can I say... I’m really happy! -
Clutch going to floor after hard acceleration
Magnet replied to barleymagrew's topic in Audi A6 (C7) Forum
Welcome John and thanks for joining. I would be suspecting the clutch concentric slave cylinder -if not cable operated - ( in bell housing), but the driving style association confuses. If it were mine, I would first be seeking advice/inspection at a trusted local independent. Another possibility from experience with a couple of non-Audis would be the actually clutch operating lever as it goes into the bell housing. This can tend to get dry and rusty and results in the lever not returning properly. Give it a good dosing with WD 40 to start. Apologies Cliff, I know you are anti this stuff! Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth. -

Hi, I've recently bought a manual 2.0 diesel 2016 S-Line, it was actually a cat N write off, however only very minor front damage, it was just plastic bits that were broken, plus one parking sensor. So something I could fix! It's one owner and been looked after. However I've noticed that after only relatively hard acceleration then clutch is going to the floor and its hard to put into gear, it does slowly recover. It's fine when driving shall we say economically! Has anyone experienced this, could it just be some sort of air lock or am I looking at replacing expensive parts!

Thanks Frank, Have you worked out the economics of buying different size wheels and then appropriate tyres vs. having your current wheels refurbished?

It's the intercooler pump. A member had a similar issue the other day: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/198777-P-190-d

You need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Also what engine has the car got? Does it happen in certain weather or temperature conditions? Any warning lights on? Any recent other work done to the car?
-
You're welcome 🙂 That I'm not sure.

Hello Steve, thanks for the link. I remember coming across this before and even spent about a week trying to find it again, but I couldn’t find it. Really appreciate it. Is this something I can diagnose with computer maybe before removing EGR?
