  2. Welcome John and thanks for joining. I would be suspecting the clutch concentric slave cylinder -if not cable operated - ( in bell housing), but the driving style association confuses. If it were mine, I would first be seeking advice/inspection at a trusted local independent. Another possibility from experience with a couple of non-Audis would be the actually clutch operating lever as it goes into the bell housing. This can tend to get dry and rusty and results in the lever not returning properly. Give it a good dosing with WD 40 to start. Apologies Cliff, I know you are anti this stuff! Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Regards, Gareth.
  3. Hi, I've recently bought a manual 2.0 diesel 2016 S-Line, it was actually a cat N write off, however only very minor front damage, it was just plastic bits that were broken, plus one parking sensor. So something I could fix! It's one owner and been looked after. However I've noticed that after only relatively hard acceleration then clutch is going to the floor and its hard to put into gear, it does slowly recover. It's fine when driving shall we say economically! Has anyone experienced this, could it just be some sort of air lock or am I looking at replacing expensive parts!

  5. Thanks Frank, Have you worked out the economics of buying different size wheels and then appropriate tyres vs. having your current wheels refurbished?

  7. It's the intercooler pump. A member had a similar issue the other day: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/198777-P-190-d
  8. You need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Also what engine has the car got? Does it happen in certain weather or temperature conditions? Any warning lights on? Any recent other work done to the car?
  9. You're welcome 馃檪 That I'm not sure.

  16. Hi Riflo, What a diamond. Thanks Paul
  17. Does that mean the bean counters have been working at at SKF and Timken? I've not heard of F. A. G.
  18. My concern was did the bearing fail over working on the cv joint , or did they damage it doing the cv , is this a common, should the bearing and cv be done together
  19. There's a SKF bearing going in , one was put in on other side 55k ago and still perfect.
  20. Hello, this is the part number for rear left tail light: 4G9945095B
  21. It's booked for an MOT Saturday, then I'll be doing a driveway service and trying to trace the alarm sounder and module. Will update if that fixes the battery drain.
  22. HI I HAVE A 2018 A4 2.0TDI I HAVE AN ERROR CODE OF P190D COOLENT PUMP FOR CHARGE PRESSURE COOLER . DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ON THIS PLEASE
  23. I'll be watching this thread with interest as I have a Cobra alarm fitted to my 1988 Coupe GT. I want to remove/replace it but the car works at the moment........
  24. Make sure the fit a F.A.G. Bearing. Basically fit and forget. Car parts are not what they used to be, so cheap parts reveal themselves prematurely with normal wear and tear.
  25. But unfortunately the wheel bearing on the side has gone bad in the 2 weeks since the cv joint was changed, coincidence or was damaged during the cv joint saga , either way its going in for a new wheel bearing tomorrow. The joys of a 10 year old A6 !!! Regards
  26. Hi riflo, The VIN is WAUZZZ4G2EN077159. Many Thanks, Paul
  27. Yes its resolved, they replaced the outer cv joint again , they think the 1st one was faulty out of the box . Regards
  28. I have exact the same issue but only when out in reverse after a long drive. Single clank noise from wheel and that's all. Can this be the arm/wishbone ? Has yours been resolved now? If so what was it ? Thanks.
