  4. Hi. Did we not offer any kind of insurance premium or were we just un-competitive? Regards, Dan.
  5. SD card will only work if sat nav is enabled on the MMI. If it's not enabled then its roughly a £500 job at the main dealer.
  6. I have an as new and unused Black alloy space saver from my 2016 q7. Size is 195x65x20 and it comes with the hard wheel well securing packaging with the securing bolt. Just put it on ebay today but thought someone in this group might want it? I've 21s on the car and this doesn't fit... been carrying it around in the boot for 3 years. ....
  7. New owner of Audi s1 2017. No sat nav. Been advised to get navigation sd card. Amazon eBay don't appear to do for s1? Any suggestions please
  8. Hi to you all would any of you guys have a link to or a sequence for Coding a Tow Bar to 2019 Avant using VCDS Thanks in advance Jim
  9. I think you are correct Gareth. What really upsets me is that when I thought things are jogging along nicely my wife became ill and unable to get about, hence the A6 Avant for her mobility scooter. Then unfortunately she passed away in 2022. I thought I would get myself a car completely for me, and now people are trying to take that away from me as well. Sorry went off on a tangent. I'll keep you in the loop. Tony
  10. New owner of Audi S1 year 2017, no working sat nav. Local service garage advised of sd card off amazon or ebay but don't seem to find one. Any suggestions please
  11. Dare I say Tony, you and I are of a certain age where insurance companies don’t wish to start insuring us, i.e. if you are currently insured with them then they will continue to do so - at a price! - but comparatively few want to stat to offer cover.
  12. Glad to hear you got it sorted Flatspell. To be fair, unless the garage specialise in Audi's, they may not know about this specific issue. They'll just replace the part that's likely to be the issue after a diagnosis scan.
  13. Hi, new to this forum. Would like to thank all the members as read about the lockout that occurs after about 20 times the warning appears.Replaced the sensor, cleared fault using vids and has never appeared again. 110 pound from main “stealer” ,was quoted over 3 grand by an independent , thanks to this forum saved a small fortune and all the headaches. When I mentioned the fix to the independent garage they looked at me blankly, didn’t know about it. Thanks to all.
  14. I did think of a classic, but I'll wait until Admiral confirm my renewal cost. Thanks Cliff, I tried Adrian Flux, another one that wouldn't cover me. Tony
  15. Tony. There is a fellow associated with this forum who pops up ocassionally and offers insurance. Adrian Flux or something similar is the name. I know nothing of him.
  16. Sorry to hear that Tony. Buy a classic car at a fraction of your outlay and get free road tax, cheap insurance which includes an agreed value and breakdown cover. No ULEZ issues. Ideal solution unless you do a lot of motorway driving. Regards, Gareth.
  17. Hi Gareth. Just tried Darwin, answered all their questions. Result was.......... We are sorry, but we cannot offer you insurance on this occasion. I am going to buy a Smart! Not really. Tony
  18. If it is secondhand parts you want go to a car breaker. Why the clause about upgrading?
  19. Blinking heck Tony, For the overall cost of buying and running this, I would want slates on the roof, and a council tax bill! I’m well qualified in the pensioner category, but the insurance on my prestige brand non - Audi is not that much more than what you are about to pay for your luxury car tax. In case it helps, I have been insured with Darwin ( subsidiary of Churchill) for a couple of years. Worth a try? Regards, Gareth.
  20. Hello Eamon? You seem to have altered your name to something implausible. Any reason? The chances of anyone having these are slim enough to ignore the possibility, let alone the postage cost to get them to you. Depending on fronts or backs, Parts in Motion seem to be listing pairs of rears from around £48 inc. postage. Please amend your name, and let us know what you think. Regards, Gareth.
  21. Hi I have a brand new still in unopened box rs3 style front bumper to fit a3 8y all models apart from the rs3. £450 I bought this for a project car myself and my son are building (his 1st car). It’s a a3 8y s line 1L with light front end damage. We are building it as a Rs3 replica and have decided to use original rs3 parts.
  22. Read a similar error, that was eventually traced to a vacuum leak off the EGR cooler. I think at the very least you are going to need VCDS and then measuring blocks which basically gives you live data. The fault code is one thing, but you need to understand why, and live data should help pinpoint. This was on 2010 model. https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/378244/
  23. Go to a professional body shop. Had a similar issue with an old 2012 A4 Allroad. It’s classed as Platinum Grey 1RR, however will no doubt vary across models. When I spoke to Audi main dealer, it didn't even show up as a code. Phoned a few body shops and ones that are Audi and Porsche approved and they said it can’t be blended. Entire panel would need to be painted. As it’s matt/satin effect, it’s notoriously difficult to achieve consistent effect with rattle cans. Hope that helps.
  24. ErWin, pay to view. You can download and print off pages you need. Given only 2018, then you’re going to need VCDS, plus if you buy additional parts, bear in mind they need to be new, otherwise you get into security component protection which only ODIS dealer level software can clear.
  25. I'm looking into replacing the engine on an A3 1.0 TFSI 2018 model. What would be a good source of information on the procedure for removing and replacing the engine, such as a suitable workshop manual? I have found the Haynes manuals, but they don't seem to cover this kind of thing and they are generally a bit crap. Thanks.

  27. Not sure if I'm keeping the thing. But would only be interested in parts from folk who upgraded and the removed parts had plenty of life in them. If anyone has a link for the 400mm discs, new or used, feel free to reply. Ta.
