  2. Hello, I cant find them on there but thanks for the heads up, I made sure when i got these they were actually new stock not already a few years old like many have on offer. I Got these for my A8 so thought maybe a popular size to offer to members.
  3. You must be knowledgeable and spanner handy if you have rebuilt turbo. Given the time to remove and the likelihood that it could potentially fail again, I opted for a new unit from https://turbo-diesel.co.uk on my old A4 Allroad. Back to your issue. The actuator can be be tested with a hand held vacuum pump if it holds pressure. Trouble is, it’s pretty specialised to remove actuator and reconfigure. On new units they are set up from factory, so basically plug and play. Did you renew the oil feed line to the turbo? The union nut at the turbo is known to be problematic and can weep if cracked off. In addition, did you renew the gasket to the exhaust? What are you using to read codes? VCDS would be software of choice and I’m sure would log actuator fault if low boost.
  4. Hello Tony, I’m sorry to hear of the sad background news, and can well appreciate your reasons for buying yourself a nice new car, on a why-not basis. At this age, it’s not unusual for the current insurers to come up with more reasonable quotes than comparison sites, so let’s hope for better news. I guess you are inputting the low annual mileage of 3k-? Please let us know how you get on Tony, and/or if you think we can offer any further advice on this. Kind regards, Gareth.
  5. Hello David, Probably not my business, but a quick search brought up Tyres.net at £330 pair delivered, so perhaps a collection price of £300 maybe rather optimistic. Although appreciating your logic based on what you paid for them. Regards, Gareth.

  7. Hi all. Really sorry I forgot to post. This is how it went with Audi, Oldham. The technician told me that the diagnostic found no faults and that the issue was that I had deselected intelligent coasting in the MMI. He told me that he activated it again, drove up and down the motorway, and all is well. So…when I went to collect the car, and although I told him that the intelligent coasting mode had been switched off since new, he was adamant that this is what the issue was. Anyway, since being plugged in the diagnostic, and intelligent coasting off again, it’s back to normal !? I think a reset of the ‘brain’ of the car must have been done, but I wasn’t told that. in conclusion, when the electric charge is depleted, it shuts off the petrol engine into regen electric just as it should. The complete opposite to the issue I had, which was that the car never shut off the petrol engine, and instead decided to charge the battery, which resulted in sub 20 mpg for two weeks of driving. Again, sorry for this very late post and that I can’t be more helpful. Andrew
  8. A ticking noise started on my car but it was hit or miss like i’d turn off my car go chill and then when i’d go back the ticking was gone then later on when i’d start up the car the ticking is back and just yesterday while i was driving it was ticking then the ticking went and a steering malfunction light came up so i went and pulled over started up the car again. And saw all driving assists were turned off. If you’ve experienced this please help me cause i’m struggling to diagnose the issue and people have been telling me it’s the steering rack but i’m not sure.

  10. Hi. I have a 2008 c6 avant 2.0 tdi. Every now and then I get no boost to the turbo. I have removed the turbo and rebuilt. I have replaced a soft and squidgy pipe from turbo to intercooler. I have replaced the boost control valve and all the pipes looked in good condition. It crops up every now and then. If I drive like a granny it’s very rare but if I boot it it’s more prevalent. It doesn’t produce any fault codes. Any ideas please? Could it be the actuator? Not sure what else to try.
  11. Hi Dan. No, you just said that you were unable to offer me cover. I know that the problem is that I am 81 years old driving a high powered car. Also unfortunately I picked up a speeding ticket last month which was most annoying. I was taking my son and his wife to Gatwick at 03.40 in the morning and set a camera off in Selsdon. It clocked me at 34 mph!!! and I got a £100 fine and 3 points for that. I know that the insurance is going to expensive but I have a car which is my pride and joy. I have had it 2 years now and have only done 6100 miles so it is not as if I am chasing up and down motorways with it. Tony

  13. Hi. Did we not offer any kind of insurance premium or were we just un-competitive? Regards, Dan.
  14. SD card will only work if sat nav is enabled on the MMI. If it's not enabled then its roughly a £500 job at the main dealer.
  15. I have an as new and unused Black alloy space saver from my 2016 q7. Size is 195x65x20 and it comes with the hard wheel well securing packaging with the securing bolt. Just put it on ebay today but thought someone in this group might want it? I've 21s on the car and this doesn't fit... been carrying it around in the boot for 3 years. ....
  16. New owner of Audi s1 2017. No sat nav. Been advised to get navigation sd card. Amazon eBay don't appear to do for s1? Any suggestions please
  17. Hi to you all would any of you guys have a link to or a sequence for Coding a Tow Bar to 2019 Avant using VCDS Thanks in advance Jim
  18. I think you are correct Gareth. What really upsets me is that when I thought things are jogging along nicely my wife became ill and unable to get about, hence the A6 Avant for her mobility scooter. Then unfortunately she passed away in 2022. I thought I would get myself a car completely for me, and now people are trying to take that away from me as well. Sorry went off on a tangent. I'll keep you in the loop. Tony
  19. New owner of Audi S1 year 2017, no working sat nav. Local service garage advised of sd card off amazon or ebay but don't seem to find one. Any suggestions please
  20. Dare I say Tony, you and I are of a certain age where insurance companies don’t wish to start insuring us, i.e. if you are currently insured with them then they will continue to do so - at a price! - but comparatively few want to stat to offer cover.
  21. Glad to hear you got it sorted Flatspell. To be fair, unless the garage specialise in Audi's, they may not know about this specific issue. They'll just replace the part that's likely to be the issue after a diagnosis scan.
  22. Hi, new to this forum. Would like to thank all the members as read about the lockout that occurs after about 20 times the warning appears.Replaced the sensor, cleared fault using vids and has never appeared again. 110 pound from main “stealer” ,was quoted over 3 grand by an independent , thanks to this forum saved a small fortune and all the headaches. When I mentioned the fix to the independent garage they looked at me blankly, didn’t know about it. Thanks to all.
  23. I did think of a classic, but I'll wait until Admiral confirm my renewal cost. Thanks Cliff, I tried Adrian Flux, another one that wouldn't cover me. Tony
  24. Tony. There is a fellow associated with this forum who pops up ocassionally and offers insurance. Adrian Flux or something similar is the name. I know nothing of him.
  25. Sorry to hear that Tony. Buy a classic car at a fraction of your outlay and get free road tax, cheap insurance which includes an agreed value and breakdown cover. No ULEZ issues. Ideal solution unless you do a lot of motorway driving. Regards, Gareth.
  26. Hi Gareth. Just tried Darwin, answered all their questions. Result was.......... We are sorry, but we cannot offer you insurance on this occasion. I am going to buy a Smart! Not really. Tony
  27. If it is secondhand parts you want go to a car breaker. Why the clause about upgrading?
