  2. Instrument cluster failure is well known on the 8p. If you've bought it from a dealer then get it back to them asap.
  3. Today
  4. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  5. My brother and friend have used powerflow exhausts and been happy with the results.
  6. My own dealership actively distanced themselves from Audi and appeared concerned they wouldn't be paid for extended warranty work. As a result all my negotiations went through Audi Executive Office as the dealership stepped back. I had to pay the full cost up front. Some of the cost was reclaimed through a third party warranty before Audi finally took my complaint seriously.
  7. Hi. I have recently purchased a lovely 2017 S6 with 62k miles Its far too quite for my me and I am thinking of either a middle resonator delete, replaced with an x pipe, or a full cat back system. I have seen a Scorpion exhaust within my price range, and also Milteks, but they are slightly over budget. Does anyone have any recommendations of any other brands? If I just go for the middle resonator delete, I have seen an x pipe by ECS and 034 motorsport for about £450. Does anyone on here have those fitted? If so, how do they sound. I don't want anything too loud, but I want to be able to hear a bit more of the V8 than I can at the moment. Also, does anyone know anything about the active sound and what actually happens when you put the engine noise in Dynamic, as I cant hear any difference. I don't think its a valved exhaust, as I cant hear them opening or closing Thanks Dan
  8. So, update on the gearbox issues. It’s been very intermittent. Done it on Thursday and has been fine since. At mechanics here. Said it could be the gearbox oil needs changed as it’s approaching 70k miles. I told him I changed the oil at 65k but just got it at the motor factors. He said that may not have been the right oil and always goto Audi. Got a long wait as the won’t give me a courtesy car 😢
  9. Thanks for that, I've ordered one so lets hope this one works !
  10. Is there a reliable seller? especially someone not on eBay? They look like they’re in the 35-45 pound ballpark for a piece of plastic, seems a bit exorbitant?
  11. It’s the plastic insert in the car chassis that a Jack fits into, I’ve never had a car where these need replacing
  12. Thanks Spartacus, it was something like that! The tag on the underside of the connector has to be pulled outwards, it simply bends a bit and detaches a tiny latch inside. Awkward little blighter but all done now, contacts sprayed (they looked a bit green) and problem has gone away.
  13. Tons of them on Fleabay & Amazon, all pretty cheap.
  14. As would be air filter changes.
  15. Audi dealer.
  16. I am intrigued. What are rear jack inserts?
  17. Take it back to the dealer for a refund before the 30 day limit expires.

  20. Hi DieSel-Q I think it is a great shame that some customers have not had the free of charge repair. Dealers should proactively check current issues reported by customers in case they are covered. Whilst it certainly pays to do some research on the Gov Website shown above and present the evidence to the dealer’s service department, it should not be something that is necessary.
  21. Pretty sure it’s chain, not cam belt, and quick scan of that Audi package, does not include brake fluid changes, that would be extra.
  22. To be fair I think that's not too bad for a price. Does include brake fluid changes and AC cleans etc? Don't forget you could be due a cambelt change soon if it's not been done already.
  23. That's a good point, it could be.
  24. Oops! Wrong tree barked up. Fair point made re you are happy to put your trust in them, and that’s all that matters. Just as a matter of interest, is your vehicle still running on its 8 year old air filter? Audi were only changing it when it reached 45K.
  25. @Magnet No Gareth. £695.00 for the two years cover - paid upfront OR a 24 monthly payments. No interest. You've added the upfront payment to the 24x monthly ones and so paying twice for everything! 🙂 Give me credit Gareth! My fairly 'local' garage that i know, deal mainly with 4x4s. They'd be wanting in excess of £695 to match the equivalent of what the Audi garage will do and give. The £695 also includes 2 MOTs I’m happy to put my trust in a garage with qualified Audi engineers.
  26. Hello Edi, How old is the battery? Have you had it checked under load conditions? When you say you have tried a new battery, was that a ‘new, new’ battery, or a used one, and what battery is currently fitted? Have you checked the engine earths? Regards, Gareth.
  27. Comes under the polite heading of ‘Oh blinking heck’ - if I’m following the correct logic. For 1 oil and filter change, 1 oil and pollen filter, and two MOTs, Audi are extracting almost £1,400 from your wallet over 2 years ( with £695 taken in advance). For that privilege they won’t even change your air filter without charging you extra! Personally, I would need gas and air, but perhaps I’ve got a very distorted comparison of getting the same work done on this 8 year old vehicle at a trusted local garage. It would be interesting to hear what others think of this -? Regards, Gareth.
  28. The problem could be the ignition switch or the key?
