S4 front lower control arm replacement

Featured Replies

As per the title really, the front lower control arms on my 2005 S4 are showing signs of wear with the bushes worn on the rear lower arms and the rubber gaiter split on one of the front arm ball joints. Before anyone suggests replacing both upper and lower arms the uppers are fine and I need to keep costs down within reason.
So which brand do I use and where is the best, aka cheapest, place to buy them from, assuming nobody actually bothers replacing just the bushes even thought it appears you can buy them separately?

Hi Graham, I've had this on my a6 and it's the whole arms that we're replaced not just the bushes. You could try TPS or eurocarparts as I suspect they'll be cheaper than audi.

Thanks Steve,  guessed that would be the case with the arms, I'm not sure why they bother selling the bushes as you don't have mechanics that can be bothered to change such things these days they just swap parts out when it would only take a small press to change them.
