Hi All,

New to Audi ownership and to this forum, been a BMW guy for 30 years.

Somebody was kind enough to smash into my parked car's left wing mirror, leaving the glass shattered and no contact details. Luckily the housing and mechanism are still intact.

I took off mirror glass (which loose and only held on by 2 wires), copied the part number and started my search online....very confusing to an Audi newbie as there are soooo many versions...

I rang Audi, they quoted me £252 for the glass only , when I asked why so much, guy told me it's because it's an heated, auto-dimming one....

Back to the tinterwebs, more confusion and less luck finding the same mirror glass.

My question to you guys, if I install a different model (non-dimming), would I get angry pixies screaming at me on the dashboard?

Does anyone know where I can get the genuine article cheaper?

I've tried ebay and amazon, rang 3 wing mirror speacialists (new and used)..no luck.

Car is Audi A5 3.0 TDI Quattro, 57 plate. Part in question is: 8t0857535g

Saw this - as well as others - on ebay, my main issue is: given the different part numbers, would this one fit my car? (the one you linked to has part number 4F0857536AH)

Halfrauds, Eurocarprats and the like don't carry auto-dimming..

Any ideas?

Are you sure your part number is correct ? It comes up as audi a5 part ...
