Retro-fit Fog Lights

Featured Replies

I'm looking to fit foglights to my 2007 2.0 Sportback and wonder if anyone has done this and if so whether the existing wiring loom has the necessary connections already.

I think they were an extra back in the day and there is a slim chance the necessary wiring is there and all that is needed are the lights and switches.

Thanks for any response.

I don't know for certain, but I doubt there were different wiring looms for different models, that would have been too expensive to produce/identify/store/fit. It would be cheaper to make and fit one loom to all models and accept that some bits, such as foglight wires, would be wasted on your model.

Hi Clifford,

Thanks for response, my thoughts exactly so I guess next thing is to have poke around and see if anything appears behind the foglight grille. My previous cars were BMW and they were quite good at leaving tail for future fitment, cruise control and the like.

Hello Mike,

Sounds a nice idea, and I think (in caps) that they may be a simple direct fitment into the front bumper recess, following removal of the current black plastic ‘blanking’ grilles, but I wouldn’t be sure.

Might be worth double checking this before being too concerned about pre wired connections. Apologies if you have already double checked that.

Kind regards,

Gareth.
