No audio on my a3 Audi say it needs new control unit in glove box and want £3500 any ideas?

Hi, can you elaborate on what you mean by no sound? Is it so sound at all or just through certain channels like CD, AUX, Radio, Nav?

No sound from anything. Stereo phone sat nav.......

Audi report says “trace to f5 control unit. Needs new control unit”.

I'd be looking at fitting a secondhand unit first. 

I would definitely go along the line of getting a new unit, sounds like a fault that would be hard to fix
