Audi A6 C6 2007 Lukewarm air from AC on 3 vents out of 4

Featured Replies

Hi there,

hope someone can help me out on this one, read a lot on forums about HVAC pumps, and control valves, etc. My car started only blowing lukewarm air (even on Lo) on 3 vents out of the 4, the most passenger side vent blows much colder than the rest. gave the HVAC control valves a quick clean, which helped a little bit, but still not the best, only blowing like 17-18 degrees on Lo setting. I went to a specialist who quoted the following (see attached). they said the part needed is nearly £400. but it is still suspicious for me that they want to replace this part :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Coolant-4F1959617B-4F1-959-617/dp/B01K1DQ0OA/ref=asc_df_B01K1DQ0OA/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=399634921412&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8805919360818051198&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006764&hvtargid=pla-422215341513&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=93504845188&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=399634921412&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8805919360818051198&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006764&hvtargid=pla-422215341513

can anyone confirm if they talking about the same thing? wouldn't be nice paying £530 for a £50 part that I can replace myself.

Many thanks in advance!

There doesn't seem to be too much interest in here!!! Did you manage to sort your AC problem out?

Have you done a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up?

I have an issue with my AC that might be connected. I had an issue in 2021 with the fan staying on all the time. I checked a few chat rooms & spoke to a customer who had an S5 with the same problem & the fix was to fit a new AC pressure sensor..£15, front bumper off, done.. fan not on any longer but still no AC... a quick £65 regas & it was sorted.

Last week when the summer turned up, I obviously turned the temp down & the AC has been blowing very cold & then not so cold intermittently. In other peoples experience could it be low refridgerant & it needs a recharge? I hear they reuse the gas that they pull out including all the debris & moisture that have been taken out of all the cars that they do recharges on. Without plugging in & scanning for faults, has anybody had an experience similar & solved it?
