OBD bluetooth devices

Featured Replies

Audi A3 1.6 diesel , 2011.

I have an airbag warning light on the dash which I want to sort out, and want to buy a suitable diagnostic device to identify any fault, and hopefully turn off the warning light.

I have so far tried 2 Bluetooth adapters that plug into the OBD port, and both (Carista and FIXD) have proved to be useless and not fit for the purpose for which they were sold. There seem so many scanners on the market it is impossible to decipher which are good and which are cheap imported Chinese fake or knock off tat.

Not really willing to pay a main dealer £75 + VAT to plug into a computer before any work, so has anyone any advice or recommendations regarding a good useful scanner? I'm not a cheapskate and happy to part with some cash for a good tool that does what it is supposed too.

Clive.

From what I have read on this forum, even Audi dealers' equipment can not be relied upon to give reliable diagnoses, so I doubt an Ebay purchase will be better. An auto electrician might be a better bet.

VCDS originally called vagcom from rosstech is the best

alternatively OBDeleven is much cheaper and has a lot of good features

both them can program different features on your car

if just a reader wanted the I've found OBD auto doctor a very reliable program with a cheap elm32 adapter

Maybe the OP has already solved this, but I also give a +1 to OBDeleven.
