S4 4.2V8 BBK Timing Chain Replacement

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

I am struggling to find a professional to do a timing chain replacement for me and solve an oil leak.

I have contacted a lot of places (inc Audi specialists) and they won't take it on.

I would be very grateful if someone could recommend someone from the job (ideally in the Leicestershire area)

Many thanks

I use ac motor services in Syston leics for my a6 servicing. Worth ringing them. Also there's chapman's Audi specialist in wigston but I've not used them personally.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the message

I tried both of them and neither were willing to take it on but they have given me some others to try.

Cheers

So sorry to hear that. Hope you have more luck with the others.

Hi, I was just watching a video by VAG Technic here:

https://www.youtube.com/c/VAGTechnic

It shows how they open up a V6 engine to change the chains and tensioners. They would probably be good guys to contact as they really seem tto know their stuff and the cost looks reasonable. They are based in Dudley which isnt too far from you. I'd definately go to them if I wasnt out in the West Country.

Best of luck

Yes they are excellent

I have seen that they do a video detailing the complete engine out but i'm not brave enough or have the space to do that myself.

I have spoken to a couple of other specialists and just waiting for some quotes.

I could leave it but it's annoying me now!
