I’ve recently bought a 2009 A4 (b8) and I’m looking to add an armrest. 

However, the interior was previously changed to an S-line interior and the centre console seems different too. 

I need help to find out what armrest fits this centre console. As I can’t see anything online that looks like the one I have. 

After doing research I found out the connector in the pocket is a phone adapter ? What is this used for and what connects to this ?

Yep it's a phone connector. You might have to replace the center console. Alternatively you could look at an aftermarket armrest from armster or similar. 

Late question, but did you find a solution for this? Mine has the exact same but i cant seem to find any that fits.

Have a look for one from armster or similar. Or as I previously suggested to the other member, you could change the armrest. 

Regarding the phone holder, it'll be for an Audi built in one and the parts can be bought on eBay but they're not too common unfortunately

i get that you can source an armrest second hand. But should it not be an original?! I recently bought the car at 165k km and realized on the way home that there was no rest.

and it doesnt look like the center console has been changed in any way. So i guess my question is, is this original? Did the car brand new come without an armrest?😅

That's what I mean you could look at buying a second hand one from eBay or similar that has an armrest built in.
