Audi Q7 brake system problem

Featured Replies

Hi i have an Audi Q7 v6 3l 2013 plate,

we started feeling the brakes being a bit spongey so got the brake pads change, after we thought they weren't quite right so took it back and he re bleed them and same problem and there was nothing else he could do. so we took it to another garage and he said process of elimination ant started with a new master cylinder, was ok for a week but not 100%, then brake peddle all the way down with hardly any brakes. Then changed front os calibre as said bleed nipple was snapped. After changing it was the best my brakes have been again only for one week lol. He said you need a pressure bleed and he doesn't have one. so we went to another garage and got a pressure bleed, they had problems and said not sure how long it will last and also said it could be the newly installed master cylinder again after 1 week no brakes and worst than ever. Obviously the costs are mounting up and i thought i would ask you guy.

many thanks

There was a recall on some Q7’s due to a possibility of oil entering the brake servo through the vacuum line and damaging the servo. Might be worth ringing Audi and asking if your car was effected and if so had the work carried out. Affected cars between were 2012-2014

I have this exact same problem with my 2014 3.0 Q7.

Did you manage to resolve it? My specialist is struggling to resolve it.

Thanks

After spending about £4000 andAudi main dealer saying it needs a whole new braking system. I took it to an Audi specialist, they diagnosed it within 2 hours. They were 99% certain it was the abs pump. It would have cost £3500 to replace and couldn’t take the risk of losing another load of money. So I traded it in for a newer model. If it would have been diagnosed properly from the start, I probably would still have that car.

hope this helps

good luck

I have same problem with 14 audi q7. Breaks disapear within as week or so. After several garages tried their luck there was no luck. 2x master cylinders direct from audi brand new changed as each garage do not trust previous. ABS pump changed. Still problem presist. Air in the system no solution at this time.
