Rear demise and radio reception

Featured Replies

A3 saloon 2015 1.6 Tdci ultra s line.  Rear demister doesn’t work, and the radio reception is terrible.  Checked fuse f7 and f53, and they are good.  Rear demister button lights when pressed, but stays on constant. Can anyone help 🙏

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. It could be a broken wire on the demister. The radio could be a failing antenna

Thanks Steve.  I’ve got an ancel vd500 VAG code reader.  Should it come up in there somewhere?

Definitely sounds a wiring issue then. Might be worth removing the trim in the boot to inspect the wires

So I removed the trims, and everything was disconnected.  I’ve reattached everything and all is working.  I noticed there are amplifiers on both sides, but there is only a suppressor on one side.  Don’t know if that’s right or not.  Not sure why they have been disconnected. Can only assume it was done when the back window was tinted.
