Creek

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have a a5 sports back, I have a creek. Coming from the rear of my car on the drivers side I put it in the garage they said they think I have a dry rubber joint that was it, they said there are to many rubbers to know what one is creeking, it makes the noise when accelerating or turning into a corner and humps in the road

Hello Darrin,

Thanks for joining and posting your plea.
If I’ve got this right, the garage are suggesting one or more of the numerous rubber joints are causing your issue.
Are you now asking forum members to suggest which one is the offender? If so, I guess you will appreciate this would be extremely difficult without access to the car.
I this were mine, I would be asking the garage to spray all the rubber joints with ATF ( automatic transmission fluid) in the hope that that will ease the noise.
Perhaps you could let us know.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

The garage is correct.

Some good advice here already.

Alternatively you can either replace all of them and hope that cures the noise, or what I'd do is forget about until it starts knocking as it becomes more worn, then it'll be easier to identify for replacing.
