Wheel bearing?

Featured Replies

Good evening you helpful bunch!

so my 2017 A4 SLine has developed a humming sound whilst driving, it gets louder the faster I go, I’m inclined to think wheel bearing, so my question is, does my theory sound correct? If so can anyone give me a rough guide on price to replace, I have the tools and ability to do so myself, just not the time.

cheers in advance folks.

Steve.

Hello Steve (Durham),

Wheel bearing associated noises will normally vary on bends, as stresses are thrown onto or off the wheels on each side.
My first port of call would be to eliminate all tyres as possible culprits, before moving on to more complex possibilities.
Kind regards,

Gareth.
