A4 B8 - brakes applying

When I’m driving and I take my foot off the accelerator the brakes seem to be applying without me touching the brake pedal - when I press accelerator again seems to stop - but happens as I lift off each time -  any ideas what May be causing this? 

Silly suggestion - check your floor mat and make sure it hasn't ridden up and is fouling the pedals...
