Oil leak

Featured Replies

Hi all. Loving my Audi but now the Autobox is leaking oil. Are they any common issues (2013 2.0 tdi). Spoke to two Audi specialists local 1 said he will get it in and look to see whats wrong. The other just said they wont touch it and needs to go to gearbox specialists.

Im hoping so. Finally got a garage to put it up on the ramp to see where its coming from.

Finally managed to find a garage willing to put the A6 on a ramp. Turns out its the cooler pipe thats leaking. So next question wheres the best place to get replacement pipes (oil pipes not water) maybe even cooler as well?.

Car fixed. i was lucky it was a cooler pipe that burst. Had to buy a 2nd hand cooler and pipes from ebay only £50. Couldnt get the pupe i need and was told they werent sure when it would be in stock.

I had a similar leak and it turned out to be a worn valve cover gasket. Cleaned the area first to spot the fresh oil trail, which helped pinpoint the leak.

I had a similar issue with stubborn oil leaks and ended up needing better access underneath to check everything properly. I grabbed a car hoist through www.astrolift.co.nz, which made the inspection way easier than crawling around with a jack and stands. Being able to safely raise the whole car really helped me spot where the oil was dripping from and clean it all up before fixing the gasket.
