Auto folding mirrors

Featured Replies

Hi All, I have an Audi A7 2018, it is the last of the older shape models.
I want to add auto folding mirrors and wondered how many pins are on the wiring harness as I have been told that some cars already have the correct module so all you would have to replace is the mirrors and code the car. Can anyone help please?

Welcome Chet and thanks for joining.
Some may say that harnesses are fitted which cater for additional equipment beyond that specified in the build record.
In my book, not so, as manufacturers tailor harnesses to only cater for that build specification.
Acid test is you will have to remove the mirrors to check.
Perhaps you could let us know how you get on.

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Just stripped the passenger side door card and the module is identical to the one with auto folding mirrors.

Hi Chet,

Apologies for opening an old subject...

Can I ask, did you manage to code your mirrors? I am trying the same retrofit and looking at your door module hardware and software codes they are exactly the same as mine. And I need to recode with the help of a local VCDS bod/company.

Any feedback back you can offer would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, I couldn’t make heads nor tails of it so I left it as I just couldn’t get the answer we are looking for.
i think there are a few people on here which can do the retro fit but they charge around £1200 ish. I was led to believe that even if we have the correct harness we still would need to purchase the electric wing mirrors and then have them coded, not too sure about it all so I just left it.
sorry mate, maybe someone can/might jump in with further concrete info??
