obsolete part TT 2001 1.8 Quattro

Featured Replies

Hi all I am posting on behalf of my dad who has a 2001 TT 1.8 quattro. His engine management light has been coming on spasmodically. It has just been in for a service and the garage diagnosed failed part number 06a133773g which is no longer available. Googling the part it seems to me to be a rigid pipe assembly venting the crankcase although I'm no mechanic. Anyone know of any sat on a shelf somewhere or is there an after market replacement out there? TIA

thanks for the reply, nothing coming up either current or completed  listings. Ebay was my first port of call.

Thanks Steve,

I does help if you let us know where you have tried and failed so far, to minimise the risk of us advising you to look where you have already searched.
Can you provide a photo of the offending part?

Can you get derivatives of the part with the same number but a later prefix letter to G?

Kind regards,

Gareth.

Thanks but sorry the car is my dads, I'll try and get a photo the next time i visit him. I don't actually know the defective part, it was the garage that diagnosed it.

Tried changing the g for an h but nothing showing up for that, spotted somewhere that the g variant was preceded by the f, I have found two possibilities with the correct code (if they have in stock), one in stoke and one in france but both about £280 which is a big hit on a 23 yr old TT for a bit of plastic piping and rubber hose.

Thanks Steve,

Now you get the logic then. The suffix letters are issued in alphabetical order as (possibly minor) changes take place around the same basic part.
Alternative suffix letter to G might fit, but…

If it were mine, I would want to look at the part and determine exactly what is wrong with it, and being plastic, if it can be repaired, before committing to acquiring expensive parts.
Kind regards,

Gareth.

thanks Cliff I haven't seen the part myself but it seems a bit of a spaghetti set up with a couple of junctions.

Car now sorted, the garage managed to source a second hand genuine part so crisis averted.
