2006 Audi a3 2.0t blowing fuse 6 ( inside fuse box)

Featured Replies

Hi all I've purchased an Audi a3 2.0 t quattro. I got it cheap because it keeps blowing fuse 6 . Has anyone had this before if so can you point me in the right direction

Fuses don't blow of their own volition. There must be an electrical fault which you need to get diagnosed. Nobody here can make that diagnosis without knowing what circuit is protected by the fuse, what symptoms the car shows, and what error messages are present.

If the car was cheap because of this fault there is a fair chance repair is going to be expensive, else the seller would have done it himself and got a better price.

The fuse 6 is the diagnostic port its only a 5 amp so it nothing drastic. It was a friend and he decided it was to much of a faff to fix it. Im very handy and have built meany cars from evos subarus, bmw m3, meany golfs, 2 audi s3's but i thought asking if its a common problem would be a good start. If not  ill trace it, i quite like wiring anyway.
