Oil level sensor:engine oil change required.

Featured Replies

Have a Q3 2.0 diesel 2022.

The warning light appeared as shown in topic title. Have discussed with my Audi dealership and they have booked me for a service 4 weeks from writing this topic.

Should I be concerned about the time?

Should I be getting the oil changed sooner (how soon)?

Any advice is much appreciated.

The oil seemed low, so I topped up. The message stopped and approx 4 days later it has returned. This is when I contacted Audi as my service is due in April. Don’t want to continue driving if it is going to create further issues.

Is there any smoke from the exhaust? Or any sign of oil leaks?

Might be worth placing a piece of cardboard underneath it for a few days to see.

There are no signs of an oil leak.

The dipstick level is OK.

I'm thinking it is now just an alert reference the impending service due in April. I've since booked the service for 15/02/24, but was conscious that it is still 4 weeks away.

I will keep an eye on the oil level every few days.

Thanks for the feedback.

Glad there's no leak. Be careful not to overfill the engine with oil.

Let's hope it's just the service light. If dipstick is normal, but onboard computer saying it's low then most likely the level sensor is faulty.

Hi the sensor is on the bottom of the oil pan or on the side, but in saying that it looks like the standard warning for the oil service, what level is your sensor showing on the MMI and can you quantify a few months and if the vehicle is diesel or petrol ?

Just over 3months ago, it doesn’t show on the mmi but dipstick was fine this morning. 2.0 tdi 54000miles.
called an Audi specialist who said it could be a software update issue or a replacement of the sensor.

thanks

Hi ask a silly question but who did the oil service and did they perform the SRI properly as I have seen that before.
