Tailgate lock totally seized

Featured Replies

I've found a video on removing the tailgate light where the lock barrel is housed. I'm looking at just replacing it but will any lock barrel work for the a4 or do I need a new key blade?

Wd40 hasn't budged it. Totally seized. Hammered it with a socket. Pushed a screw driver in. It's totally knackered.

Is thus the same boot on the same car that you reported as fixed an hour ago?

Different one mate. 😂 fixed the last convertible and now having a go on the second. The lock cylinder isn't related to the last one.

Going to be a pig. The rear window needs regluing, the f294 microswitch likely needs replacing and a few other niggling issues.
