will seat ibza wheels fit my audi a1

hi i am looking to change my 17" wheels on my audi a1 2015 s line for 16" ones 215/45/16 with the same p c d of 5x100 will they fit ?? and will they put my speedo out of sink ?? i cannot find audi ones in good condition and at a good price so i thought to ask if this can be done . thank you for any help  cheers

Yep they should fit. Best way of checking if you're in a position to is trial fit one before you buy them.

The all important consideration is the ‘rolling diameter’. 
You don’t tell us the tyre sizes of your current 17 inch wheels.

yes sorry i did not include size  it is 215/40z/r17 i have been told there are a few other wheels and makes that can be fitted that will not effect my speedo ?? is this correct , thank you cheers

If I may expand upon Magnet's reply, he means that if you change to 1 inch smaller wheels you need to fit 1 inch larger tyres in order to leave the overall gear ratios unchanged.

But that is not all. The amount that the wheels are offset from the hub (or dished) also needs to be unchanged in order to avoid the tyres hitting the suspension and bodywork. That's why I can not be certain Ibiza wheels will fit. Probably they will, but I'd want certainty before spending money on them.

it is not because my wheels are damaged , i just want to change them to 16" ones to get a better softer ride , 17" low profile ones give you a harsh ride , spoils the fun of the audi a1

Hi Frank,

I agree with all the comments you've received so far, but cant emphasise enough the importance of the offset. I have gone through a wheel changing exercise myself on my Audi and it took me months and months to find wheels I liked and that would fit. The offset can determine where on the hub the wheel will sit and whether its likely to fowl any brake or suspension components. Fortunately there are easily accessible websites that can give you a guide indication of how your new wheel will fit, they will ask you for your existing wheel fitment and the new wheel fitment your proposing. They will ask you for the existing and new wheel radius and width, and also existing and new tyre sizes. They will also ask you for the offset of both existing and new wheels. The offset is often referred to as the 'ET' followed by 2 numbers and this is usually stamped in the wheels casting on the back of the rim. Just as an example my existing wheels had an offset of ET31 (stamped on the reverse of the rim) and the new wheels I was proposing had an offset of ET40. If you want a smooth and not so bumpy ride, try and and avoid tyres with a profile of less that 40.

Your case is unusual. Usually,owners want to buy larger diameter wheels, because ‘they look better’!

Ride quality is obviously important to you ( and would be to me), but in effect, you have bought the wrong car by buying an S.Line, which has inherently harder suspension. My money would be on the likelihood that you bought the car on ‘looks and toys’, which Audi translate into ‘owner also wants roadholding at the expense of ride quality’. 
One other factor to consider is whether your current tyres are extra load (XL), since if so, this will aggravate the already harsh ride.
