Guest Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Hello all, I’m new to the forum. I have a Audi a4 b8 3.0 tdi avant Recently I’ve encountered issues when selecting drive from reverse. The car cuts out, not all the time but particularly when I shift it quickly. The car also struggles to reverse up steep hills and cuts out. Yesterday I tried to pull away from a stationary position at slow speeds and it cut out. I’m hoping to find a gearbox specialist that can carry out the repair work. I’ve included the diagnostic report. Any recommendations and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Aidan
Steve Q Posted July 1 Posted July 1 When was the gearbox oil last changed? Old oil can sometimes cause issues with selecting gears.
Guest Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Hi Steve, I had the gearbox oil changed last week, unfortunately that hasn’t helped
Steve Q Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Darn, at least it was worth a shot. Could be an issue with the megatronics unit.
Solution Guest Posted Wednesday at 04:16 PM Solution Posted Wednesday at 04:16 PM Just posting an update to let you guys know, another gearbox oil change has sorted the previous issues. There was an oil leak on the Gearbox. Happy days
cliffcoggin Posted Wednesday at 04:36 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:36 PM That's good to read. Does that mean the oil had leaked out after the first change?
Guest Posted Wednesday at 04:51 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:51 PM That's right, I noticed a horrible smell when driving the car and it turned out the gearbox oil was leaking onto the exhaust. The garage did an oil change again free of charge.
