Audi A6 Allroad Tailgate issues

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I’ve just recently bought an A6 Allroad 2012 3.0TFSI from previously owning a A5 3.0tdi (amazing car), absolute dream to drive and pulls like a train.

Only issue is the boot feels heavy to open, I’ve changed the gas struts which have made it slightly easier but it still feels laboured.. the soft close works properly as does the the key fob when ‘popping’ the boot but it doesn’t fully open.

The self close button on the bottom of the inside of the boot does not work either… have checked fuse and all is good there, potentially the tailgate motor has failed?

Just remembered as well that you can faintly hear 4 clicks from the boot fuse box when pressing the tailgate button inside the boot, sound like a relay to me.

Was looking for any advice or if anyone else has had similar issues and solutions which would be much appreciated 🙂

Many Thanks

Matt
