Water Sloshing noise ,

Featured Replies

Hi There .looking for some photos of where the bulkhead drains are on the A6 C8 2019 ,over the last week I have had a water sloshing noise when I turned at the end of my street , I removed the two access panels from the scuttle cover and cleaned out quite a lot of leaves and soil ,I could see the bulkhead bottom was wet ,but not accumulation of water ,thought I had fixed the issue , next day it rained quite heavy during the night and I had the same noise again  , I will add it only last a couple of miles then it seems to clear itself . I have looked in the access holes in and around with an oscilloscope but I cannot locate the rubber drain holes on the bottom of the bulkhead  ,there are two holes at each end of the chamber that look like the have fabric/sound proofing at the back of them but they are on the bulkhead towards the engine and about 10mm up from the bottom of the bulkhead   any help please in locating these drain holes

Thank you

JIm

finally solved his issue, but never found the actual drain holes in the plenum chamber  ,as it turned out the sloshing noise was water collecting in the sunroof chamber the whole area above the windscreen was filling with water and draining very slowly cleaned the drain channel with some thin welding wire ,no more sloshing

Thanks for letting us know. Be glad the water did not leak into the cabin, it would have permanently stained the head lining.

It seems there is a whole camber in the roof and above the screen to ensure adequate draining ,

Hi Jim,

It seems my car is having the same issue! In corners it sounds as if I'm driving an aquarium.

I'm having trouble locating the actual drain channel. Could you please upload a picture of how you actually solved the issue?

Thanks you!
Thomas
