Audi allroad 2013..needs software reboot/download.Suspension

Featured Replies

Dear all as the title suggests my car has been plagued with spurious faults with compressor being told to over run and sides dropping for no reason without leaks.

In the end traced it to the j197 module which controls the height etc but I now need a new software installation and the old software isn't compatible..

Who or how is this possible to fix and also my mmi screen does not allow and suspension setting as the bars are red outlined but blank in the middles.?

It has new rear sensors and new compressor and tow new rear air springs.

Many thanks nice car but becoming unreliable.

Regards

Dan

Not yet doesn't look too bad for them just a refresh I think as some modules are back to factory setting

Hi we'll only option as my old j197 module was giving wrong info to compressor and height settings so I go a new one and there's no more fault showing with that but I need a software update for the whole car

Try phoning a Bosch diagnostic specialist. They should have the original ECU map for A6 2013 Allroad. There’s the main dealer of course, but I’d put money on them charging you a fortune and not resolving. Was replacement parts all genuine Audi? I don’t understand how the car needs software update?

I’d also scan the car with VCDS to see if any existing DTC errors still logged. There are some modules that require ‘relearn’ process after installation.

Hi Spartacus

The car has had spurious faults for weeks suggesting the car had leaks or the level height controllers were incorrect at the rear.

The fault showed up as the leveling module in the boot and that was changed a d some of the symptoms disappeared but the fact remains some of the software originally in the car isn't there anymore so it needs to

A recognise the new level sensors

B have the base software added for communiition between other modules as the cars original software was set to standard which didn't help at all

Hi Dan,

have a quick google for ‘Audi specialists near me’, I know of a couple near Slough but I’m sure there’ll be one closer to you.

if it’s just software/Vcds coding I’m sure any non-franchised audi specialist will be able to help you.
