Quattro Seems to Skip

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and was hoping get some feedback about the way my A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro is handling.

Basically the car seems to lose transaction when crossing lanes/going over white lines. I am not sure if the little shudder I feel through the steering wheel is the Quattro system kicking in or if there is actually something wrong with the setup (or tyres).

I love the car but lacking a little confidence in its stability.

Any thoughts or words of wisdom appreciated ??

Thanks

Mike

Welcome to the forum Mike :)

You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :)

Firstly have you had a diagnostic check carried out? If not then I'd say this should be your first port of call.

The Quattro system is great but can also be sensitive to changes in the car which can cause damage to it. For example uneven or mis-matched tyres, worn suspension parts or bad wheel alignment.

Sorry I can't help more though.

Cheers

Steve

What tyres have you got fitted and do you know how old they are ?

Tyres are a good point Scott. If the tyres are not matched or are fitted the wrong way round Mike could get some odd handling problems on different surfaces.

Thinking even further, are the tyres at the right pressure and is the tracking correct?
