    Glad you got sorted 🙂
  2. Hi see Roy you keep telling us your useless but look at how far you have come with just a little determination, keep going. Steve.
  3. Hi Paul, my comment was a possible cause of the situation open to exploration. i.e a relay playing up. the diagnostic software is not infallible . still looking forward to your eureka moment. Ken
  4. Hi some pictures may whet an appetite but the unfortunate thing with the Tax is its not transferable, also a ball park price is even better. Steve.
  5. Thanks for the info. Job done, my friends at Kia sorted it. No charge, just a drink for the boys. Tony

If you bought it less than 30 days ago then you can get the dealer to fix it. You could get a diagnostic check carried out to see what fault codes flag up. It could be a failed compressor so expect an expensive bill if so.

What do you want to rename it to?
  8. The worst part was removing the mirrors, at £240 each I was clenching my cheeks. Hahaha.
  9. Hi Gareth. My part time job is delivering new cars for Kia. So I will run it into them this afternoon to get it done. I just wanted to be sure that they used the correct gas for The Audi and not some mickey mouse stuff from South Korea. Tony
  10. I've disabled it using VCDS but it doesn't stop it from becoming active when the ignition is cycled. The only way I know of is to manually disable in the MMI at the start of every journey.
  11. Found a local mechanic Steve, literally up the road, gonna give them a call tomorrow see when they can book me in , luckily they close at 6pm, which makes it 10x easier for me
  12. Hi any garage that does regassing will have the appropriate gas for your model and the newer machines pressure test the system for leaks before they try and regas the system. Audi only use the expensive version which is the same as any other garage but theirs is cheaper there is no Royal Gas its all the same. Steve.
  13. Hi welcome to the world of error free, well done. Steve.
  14. Hi James My A6 Avant is a Black Edition with a Tech Pack. Kev is right you get a bigger screen and a "Jukebox"! Which you can add to via SD, USB or CD. Tony
  15. Hiya, I would hold out for a car with the tech pack, you'll get a better screen amongst other things. I'm not sure about answering your question for a non tech pack car but for the tech pack it has a hard drive you can import from SD card, USB or cd. You can play direct from those too. Ps from 2015 there was a facelift which has a better display in the clocks amongst a few other bits. Check out black editions as they look the nicest IMHO, I ended up with a 2015 allroad as they were a tad cheaper than the black editions so I could get a facelift. Yes you can send an address to the car from the app I'd have loved a bitdi but couldn't afford one, the others might feel slow compared to your current car
  16. You may want to google FTC before you part with any money, as very few are convinced that they are any thing other than ‘snake oil’. As the old adage goes ‘if it seems too be good to be true then it almost certainly is’. They have been around for donkeys years, previously I think they were called Brockets and came in a small bag. They didn’t work then and they don’t work now, a few scientific studies are around to prove it. As ever, your money, your choice but if you do get them try doing some reasonably challenging tests to prove or disprove their veracity. A few tank to tank mileage checks would be a good start.
  17. No mate. Changed the starter motor as told it was definitely that and still makes the noise. Took it back to an Audi garage and they said the diagnostics were spot on. At first they tried to make out there wasn’t a noise until I insisted I be there when they started the car from cold and hey presto it did it and they were like, not done that before when we did it, I said to them please, Don’t take me for an idiot but a year on it still makes the noise on first starting the car but it still runs like an absolute peach. so it’s a mystery but as long it’s not causing me problems, it seems I have to live with it.

Changed the capand it didn't nothing, it worked out it was the exhaust manifold matrix causing the fault. Cost of repair was over £2500
  19. Thanks thanks Peter. One omission ( should be added Trevor?), from this set of Forum Etiquette ‘rules’, is that all important and most frequently overlook principle Politeness. Why does it now appear so difficult for many, to use the words Please and Thank you? Constructive grizzle! - How many new posters do we see who simply wade in with ‘ Can you tell me how to…..’? The other (more often) ignored aspect is to acknowledge advice given. Finally:- follow-up on advice given. This is so often ignored, that when it happens, it really is surprisingly refreshing! Grizzly over! Kind regards, Gareth.
