  1. Thank you for your reply Gareth, My car is petrol, automatic, 1984cc, it did not have any warning lights or any previous issues. What I meant by cut off is; the car would not start/stop automatically and it asked me to start it manually but that did not start the car either so had to cal recovery. The car will be looked at this morning. It was so strange as I did not have any warning lights on the dashboard. Thank you again, sorry if did not provide enough details it’s my first post on here and this being my second. Thank you again
  2. No, since it’s a lease car I decided it wasn’t worth the risk of me botching the repair so I ended up taking it to my local Audi dealer to have the seat back replaced. Think it was around £300.
  3. Hi when you put in service mode make sure you release the handbrake on the button first or it wont work. Steve.
  4. Hi cheapest route is probably to get your existing unit rebuilt. Steve.
  5. Hi was the new battery coded to the car?. Steve.
  6. I remember when placing my A6 Sport Saloon into the dealer for its Warranty service, shortly after drivign out, the Engine Managment light came on. About turned and took it back, and after a five minute diagnostic check, turned out the problem was the Oil Filler cap in the engine was not properly closed and engaged ! Unbelievable, such fiddly electronic sensors on these things nowadays
  7. Couldn't agree more, fitting LED bulbs in a reflector or projector style headlight unit is just a horrible idea.

they have helped clarify why the oil change message has appeared. The service interval for oil is set at 12 months so this stacks up. Thanks.
  9. Thanks Tom. I'm loving the car, 1st Audi for me. Had Mercs for the last 20 years, but thought time for a change. Best decision I ever made. Really enjoy the drive. All the best for the new S5. Beautiful looking car !
  10. There was a Lady on this forum a while back now that had the same issue. I never read a comment containing a resolution but it looks like it was around the fuel rail pressure sensor or cam shaft(s) position sensor. The thread went off on a tangent looking at battery health and management but I do not believe this. I had a similar issue (resolved itself) running the car in eco mode where the auto gearbox goes into a coast mode and at low speed the engine stops without entering start / stop mode. This is effectively a stall and needed the start button pressed once the car is put in neutral or park (Will not restart in drive).
  11. Ouch! That makes sense. I think I’ll have to bite the bullet and have it replaced too as I don’t know how confident I am carrying out a repair by myself. I’m glad I have an idea of cost now in any case. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! Jen
  12. Welcome Timothy, Sorry to hear of your issue ‘ cut out while driving on a motorway’ , ‘…….cut out on a roundabout….’ Not really making sense! Anyone looking at this car will want to know - diesel or petrol, were there any previously episodes, any warning of anything just prior to it cutting out this time etc.?? Next step for you will be getting it plugged it in to diagnostics and getting fault codes. Please let us know how you get on Timothy. Regards, Gareth.
  13. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. Common ones are vcds or obd11. It's putting the handbrake etc in service mode.

Hi, I bought my Q3 tfsi s line, new on 1/10/24, to date it has only covered 2400 miles. my car is set on the annual service schedule, and for the last few days has been reminding me, that it requires a service in 30 days or so. Magnet, is correct in saying about low mileage vehicles requiring frequent oil changes. mine is going in on the 29/09/24. luckily my first 2 services and mot's, where included in the package when I bought the car. Brian.
  15. Don’t try Graham unless you have an adequate range of plastic trim removal tools - should be available on EBay or Amazon. Gently, gently would be my approach, ‘teasing’ the crease slowly. If you have to push the trim tools down behind the panel ( as I think you will) strongly masking tape a length cord to the top to retrieve the tool in case of difficulties! Good luck, and let us know how you get on, and stop feeding that son extra Weetabix! - otherwise you are going to end up with a ‘one careful owner - x careless children’ vehicle. Kind regards, Gareth.
