  1. Hi, I have just bought myself my bucket list car a 2007 Audi S8 V10 reg S8AAU. I bought it from South West Vehicle Auctions and generally I am absolutely delighted with it. It has done around 170k miles and given its age and mileage it’s in remarkable condition. There is a reasonablish history and the first thing I have done is to get a full service and have had new NGK plus fitted as I couldn’t see a record of them ever having being changed and there seems to be a hot start issue. Unfortunately the plugs in themselves have not solved this but happy to have them done anyway. The only other issue is the Adaptive Headlights with a warning lamp that flashes constantly while driving 😤. I have ordered a basic OBD reader to see if there are any other issues I need to be aware of before my next steps. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and will upload some photos of the beast 😆 and report back on my basic OBD reader scan. All the best, Simon.
  2. Hi the problem is the EGR is before the throttle body but superseded by the PCV system which sucks oil and water vapour out of the crankcase and tries to burn it, could be the PCV diaphragm is failing and allowing too much through, in saying that if you disconnect the Ma and it runs better thats a sign of a failing Maf. Steve.
  3. A wise decision. I'll not detract from your headlamp topic except to suggest you search recent forum history for the subject of cambelt durability.
  4. Yes mine stays in D mode on dash.I wanted to put the drive select on as going to get speakers replaced in exhaust and fit the kauftec sound booster.
  5. It's just dynamic on my Sq5 , there is no ' sports mode ' only the gearbox enters sports mode . Hth.
  6. You can add more expanation Mark if you want. We don't charge by the word.
  7. Thanks for the answer I also thought if I select dynamic transmission and engine enters sports mode
  8. My 2024 this comes as standard , the gearbox is in s when dynamic is selected.
  9. Agree, most third party warranties have more small-print than your average Hollywood prenuptial. Just follow servicing regime to the letter as preventative measure and put money aside for repairs down the line. In most instances a lack of servicing is attributed to potential fails.
  10. Hi unfortunately you will always get the odd hangers on I had it with my car you have to get to the mindset of ignoring the codes that do not affect the running and scan once a month to clear any irrelevant codes, Audi thought they were really clever designing a software that registered a code for everything, but its not clever it just gives the uneducated something to pay for and worry about every time it went to the dealers for a service. Steve.
  11. Hi Cliff & Gareth, Many thanks for your messages. I fully appreciate how difficult it must be to try and discourage the non-response from members who have been given, what's supposed to be, helpful assistance! Anyway, as you say lets hope it will improve one day Regards to both Chris.
  12. Sorry for the late reply, it's been replaced now and no faults showing.
  13. In a word: no. They are all worthless. As you have read for yourself, the exclusions mean the policies will not pay for any of the things the average motorist wants covered.
  14. Could still be the 7 speed s-tronic, but you can verify that with the build sticker that should be around the battery cover under the boot floor.
  15. I used this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006DHRA8O?ref_=pe_112168041_1111392281_t_fed_asin_title&th=1
  16. Thank you Steve, I'll get the VCDS plugged in and have a look for it.
  17. Hi its quite normal for the revs to increase as you lift the clutch could be a faulty clutch position sensor. Steve.
