  1. Looks like a result 👍 Replacing the head unit would have cost you (a lot) more!
  2. Have a look here - I suspect you have a similar head unit https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/17908-upgrading-my-mmi/?do=findComment&comment=64573 Your best bet is through the ami interface
  3. You need to differentiate between update and upgrade. You can update maps and firmware - lots of Russian guys have done the hacks. Your unit is probably mmi 3g basic. To update you can use the link above or Google mmi 3g basic map update. There is info on DIY here https://www.a5oc.com/threads/mmi-3g-basic-navigation-5-31-2-and-firmware-updates-currently-2020-2021.113473/ Most of these options are pretty solid - I have used similar on a VW RNS 850 to get the latest firmware and maps. The only other issue is if your maps are on DVD (most likely), SD card (less flexible) or hdd. If you are a bit reticent then Chris_coz's link is the easiest option. To upgrade you can probably get Bluetooth streaming either using an ami connector https://audistream2air.com/products/bluetooth-a2dp-adapter-for-audi-skoda-and-vw-3gen Or a full on connection https://upgrademyaudi.net/product/bluetooth-and-aux-module-for-audi-with-mmi-3g-navigation/ Good luck!
  4. I thought that Google Earth was no longer supported but all the other ones still work under either audi connect or with a 3rd party sim?
  5. Good to get to the bottom of it and you clearly did the right thing in challenging them 👍 The service history on newer vehicles is now captured electronically - I wouldn't be surprised if there is a paid service available to check service history. There is already one for tax and mot and you can check vehicle insurance on line.
  6. If it's a 2018 car then as Gareth says it should of had at least 1 service of some sort irrespective of the mileage. Is it an audi dealer or an independent? Sounds like you should be careful.
  7. I suspect that they will be Thule roof bars. Have a look here https://www.car-roofracks.co.uk/audi-q5-roof-racks/5-dr-suv-2008-2017-flush-rails I've also used Cruz in he past https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel3.php?emulate=roofbar&query=7663 I guess Audi don't want you buying from anyone other than them....
  8. They're definitely not planning on losing money on it - but for some people it is saving them some hassle and potentially helping maintain FSH for sell on value. 2l or less keeps the costs down. A warranty is going to knock you back a couple of hundred quid. Also AA Roadside is worth something. If you have a 2l quattro it might be worth it just in case the gearbox or drive train has an issue - provided they are covered. It's not for everybody but car choices are never one size fits all 👍
  9. Looks like a decent deal autoexpress.co.uk: Audi launches new “one-stop-shop” service plan. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/355116/audi-launches-new-one-stop-shop-service-plan And you save 6p if you pay it all up front 😁 Ps is this the right place for this?
  10. When we are all back living in caves eating raw vegetables and wondering why it's always so cold (and wouldn't it be nice if it was 2 C warmer) we won't need cars - so where's the problem? 😁 😁
  11. Looks like a nice trip - how many miles /km? If you are going via Murcia then Cartagena is a nice stop off. Normally there are a few cruise ships in (pre Covid) Either way it's better than working! 😁
  12. I only got the gen 1 basic because I have an Android phone. You can upgrade on line if you want more later.
  13. Fair enough 👍 The work at MAKCoding took about an hour. It's s bit of a trek but on a Saturday /Sunday you can make a day of it.
