    This link might help https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=chip+shortage+causing+car+shortage
  2. If you have an AMI connector you can get a USB adaptor and play Mp3s or you can get a Bluetooth adaptor and stream. Otherwise Yatour do a lot of units that will plug into the CD socket of your radio / head unit.
  3. I'd be very surprised if a screen change alone made a difference. You would need to get the mmi unit - probably in the glove box. It can be removed like an older car radio but the next problem may be that you need to get the mmi unit paired to your car (or you might need the smartphone interface) normally through audi or some 3rd party companies like Hazzydayz - it might be cheaper to go to them and get CarPlay sorted.
  4. Do you have memory seats and keyless functionality? Often the seat position is stored in the key - it is associated with the key that you get into the car with.. So you need to use a key each for your particular preference.
  5. I'm not sure about 1.4 TFSi but have a look on this thread and the links to get some background on possible issues. Overall, the older petrol engines were designed to consume a significant amount of oil.
  6. I think that I've previously posted a similar link in specific posts. This website has a really good summary of all the variants. Anyone having issues with their MMI can identify the basic details here. https://mca.electricmura.ro/en/blog-audi-mmi-mib-models/
  7. Have a look here - http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Audi/B5/Bentley_Audi_A4_B5_WiringDiagram.pdf I found with a Google of 2003 a4 cabriolet b6 3.0L v6 wiring 👍
  8. I'm pretty certain that you have to disable / isolate the battery before you can fill up - it's a safety feature - so there is probably a button in the car?
  9. Sounds like the app is the issue for the timer - I've had issues with the app v the website login regarding my location (the website had me in Canada!) so your time zone could be wrong (tenuous I know). Also googling your error code got this https://www.audiworld.com/forums/audi-e-tron-232/dreaded-vehicle-cannot-reached-error-3005616/page2/ Might be worth a try as long as you have your 10 digit code.
  10. I have no direct experience but I have a couple of thoughts. Does the new charging unit work besides the timer element? I guess that there are no compatibility issues - but it might be worth checking with the installer / manufacturer regarding the set up ? Can you try it out on a 3rd party charger - car park / supermarket? Does it charge OK and give better range? Regarding range, much like mpg, manufacturers claim numbers much higher than you will normally achieve. In this instance (as with so much of our renewable sources) it will be based on a calculation of the theoretical full capacity with no allowance for losses and inefficiencies. Temperature, the local terrain and number of passengers will also affect the range. Either way - it's best to ensure that the problem is logged with your dealer just in case it turns out to be a later known issue.
  11. Dave is right - the mmi units carty component protection so you need to "adapt" any new units to your vehicle. If it's stolen then it won't work. I had an issue on my VW sat nav a few years ago and got the protection sorted by a company in Bradford - https://m.facebook.com/cartechuk/ - they also have a website but my browser blocked it. The guy was really quick and hooked into the VW/Audi system. I think Hazzydayz in St Albans also offers this service - https://www.hazzydayz.com/
  12. Have you been doing lots of short journeys? Is the engine running rough or is it in limp mode? The first step is to run it on the motorway @ a steady 60/70 for 20 - 30 minutes. That will force a dpf regen /clean.
  13. Based on Big Dave's response and your previous issue regarding water in the boot (and based on your recent posts water on the brain 😂) it sounds like the mmi unit in the boot would be a good place to start 👍
  14. If you can get to Bradford then these guys are worth a look https://www.makcoding.co.uk/product/audi-smartphone-interface/#compatibility I used them for google maps/Lane assist/ Road sign recognition He has an A5 so it's generally tested on Audis
  15. You might need a firmware update for the newer maps. DVDs are generally very temperamental especially if they are not Audi originals. Worst case you should contact the seller and ask for some guidance.
  16. Give us a clue mate - budget, what sort of phone, what sort of system (eg Android), which unit have you got installed at the moment? I'm sure we have lots of ideas 😁
  17. Glad you had a good trip and your A6 survived. Here's to the next 100K + miles! 👍
  18. When you say the keyless fob do you mean the fob with the key because generally there is an Old fashioned key and there is a keyhole in the drivers door for getting in and out. But if you need the fob to start the car anyway then I think that Audi is your only option - I'd probably get a spare just to he safe ;-)
  19. I can only rely in Google - wiki gives a full list here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_A3 2nd gen near the bottom. If you have 1.8 tfsi then it looks like CDAA
  20. You'll probably need Audi to activate it. Have a look here https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/9942-sat-nav-activation/ You can also Google activate 2014 a3 navigation system.
  21. Have a look on this thread https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/18813-buying-a-mark-2-facelift-tt-18-tfsi-and-oil-consumption/?tab=comments#comment-67154 The issue and affected engine designations are covered and Steve explains the issue /reasoning.
  22. I'm not sure what you mean.... So you have a Universal Serial Bus connection via AMI? Are you now talking about Undamped Shelf in Back ? 😁 If you're unhappy with the car then send it back - life's too short.
  23. Have you checked if it has an AMI connector? There are a few posts on here about AMI to USB. That's how you get USB on older models
  24. It's not impressive but a couple of points; Your 2017 model was spec'd in 2010 - the new model was released in 2018 I'm guessing that you bought it second hand - so did you not check before you bought it? There were also either 3 or 4 model options for the 2010-2017 A8.
  25. There's a worldwide chip shortage due to production capacity issues. If even one $2 chip is not available, car manufacturers can't finish their $30000 cars. They need automotive approved chips so they can't just buy any old chip. This is all well documented and Audi won't give any commitments until they have guaranteed delivery of the chips. I'd be surprised if this wasn't mentioned when you purchased the vehicle.
