  1. I haven't a clue. The ideal person to ask would be Pappa583, but he has not bothered to keep us updated. You could try a private message to him, or just phone around for quotations.
  2. Therefore the noise is nothing to do with the new pulley and associated problems. It is an existing fault that is simply getting worse, as they always do. If the noise is definitely coming from the gearbox then it will undoubtedly need to be removed, and I suggest you don't drive the car until then.
  3. Look for holes or splits in the rubber bellows that carries the wires into the boot lid.

  5. I am confused. Did this noise appear before or after the pulley was replaced?
  6. Quite possibly. If the car had adjusted itself to charge a low capacity battery then it seems to me that it will not charge a high capacity battery adequately. That's a bit speculative so I suggest you get some certainty at a dealer (Audi or independant) that can advise and code.
  7. Carl. I can't answer your question, but I do suggest you flush the coolant galleries and radiator with a fair bit of pressure. Mains water pressure if that is high would be a good way. To have casting sand still in the block eleven years after manufacture is extraordinary so you need to be absolutely certain it is all removed before fitting another new pump.
  8. Is the ACC sensor in the front bumper? If so, maybe it was disturbed or damaged during bumper removal.
  9. My A3 2007 needed coding so I assume yours does as well. However I would expect a lack of coding to over charge the new battery not under charge it, so it's likely you still have a drain.

  11. For the fan to run continuously the temperature sensor must be faulty.
  12. Are VW electrics so different from Audi? I had assumed that both being part of VAG would mean almost identical electrical systems.
  13. Have you read the entire thread? There is a lot of useful information within.
  14. Skye to Inverness is a hell of a long journey. Have you looked for a mobile mechanic who might be able to come to you to do the job? I would not take Audi's word that such people don't exist. After all Audi has a vested interest in the matter.
  15. David. Do you agree that your picture shows the fuel guage, and if so, how about showing us a picture of the aircon warning?
  16. Good day Paul. Given that you don't want to dismantle the car yourself, the only alternative I know of are car breakers who will offer only a notional scrap value. The price offered for the car may seem derisory when compared to the value of the individual parts of it they will undoubtedly sell, but you have to bear in mind the cost of transporting, dismantling, and storing the car.

  18. It's going to be nearly impossible to diagnose without hearing the noise. Is there any chance you can make a good audio recording? Note that most phone recordings sent to the forum have background noise drowning out the noise in question.

  20. Is that green warning light for aircon? It looks to me like a fuel filler nozzle indicating low fuel.

  24. It has nothing to with theft prevention, and everything to do with ensuring the battery is charged correctly to avoid damage.
