  1. If it's leaking then yes I'd say it's on the way out. However I'd strongly recommend you buy both rear shocks off the breaker car as those shocks will have worn differently to yours. Ie mileage, road conditions, the speed over those road conditions. I'd also recommend getting the fronts too to have as spares but that's just me. I've done a bit of research and discovered that the magride communicates with the instrument cluster, CAN gateway, ABS and headlight range. So you will need to get it coded I suspect.
  2. Do t even go there with recalls. They are obliged to fix it.
  3. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  4. I've never heard such nonsense from a tech ever. Makes me question the credibility of the garage to be honest.
  5. Glad this thread helped 🙂
  6. There's a product called liquid moly on this thread that a couple of people have tried to clean the egr. Might be worth considering: https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/27259/ Dunno.if.this link might help either: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/193422-2-0-TDi-Ultra-CNHA-EGR-and-cooler-removal-and-cleaning/page3
  7. Thanks for the useful links 🙂
  8. Id say look at maf sensors, crank sensors, cam sensors etc. However you'd expect fault codes if these were failing. Could it be engine or gearbox mounts?
  9. Don't tell them you've done a obd scan as they might try and wriggle out of it by them claiming you've erased codes which you haven't. Also if you've bought it on finance then you can tell.tge finance company it's not fit for purpose stating your case. Aldo as it's under Audi warranty they should be acting on this. I'm assuming it's full Audi service history.
  10. You've done a good amount of diagnostic work. I'd still advise a diagnostic check to see if there's any fault codes. I'd still advise getting the battery tested to see if it's failed too.
  11. Glad it's working. I'm going to pin this post and change the title slightly to make it easier for others to find. I do believe it's still naughty Audi wanting to charge a subscription for features in my opinion.
  12. eBay or Facebook market place is your best bet. Or put a wanted ad on the breaker sites.
  13. Sorry to hear that. The water ingress issues in Audi's from.this era was ridiculous. Once my A6 has a full restoration (in time) the CCM and all electric modules etc on the floor will be moved.
  14. Oh dear. That's the problem with the CVT box.
  15. Definitely. Plus you can't always tell if it's going to go. Also the water pump could seize which would knacker it.
  16. I'd have said engine/gearbox mounts too.
  17. I personally wouldn't be risking it as Audi recommendations are best for the engine. An independent garage will be cheaper.
  18. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 looks a lovely A4 👍 insurance companies do like to drag their heels.
  19. There should definitely be good will on this as it's just out of warranty and it's well known issue! I'd definitely fight this.
  20. I've found this YouTube video which might help: Looking online I think the part is going to be around £200.
  21. But even if you do that won't the needle be slightly off?
  22. If it's hydraulic operated I wonder if the roof coming down on its own under the weight and pressure has damaged the pump. Is there any noise from the pump? Also id recommend a diagnostic check to see if there's any fault codes.
  23. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 my money would be on the engine or gearbox mounts
  24. If you're going to 14" wheels the main issue will be if they'll fit over the brake calipers etc. What size is the spare?
  25. No this is generic advertising like Facebook etc from things you've searched previously via the use of cookies etc.
