Welcome to the forum Steve! :) good choice on Audi, the a8 is awesome! :) for your budget you'd be looking at a 2005-2010 mode I would say. Make sure everything works! There are a lot of electrical components on an a8 and they can be very expensive to fix! Obviously check the service history and ideally this should be full. If it has a full Audi service history then you can ring them to find out what work has been done. Also ask the seller if you can get an independent vehicle inspection carried out. Companies such as the AA and RAC offer this service. If the seller is reluctant or refuses then they or the car may have something to hide. When on a test drive make sure the automatic gearbox changes gears smoothly both in auto mode and manual mode. As any problems can and will be expensive. Also check the condition of the bodywork and check for signs as crash damage. I ask this as the a8 body is made up of a high proportion of aluminium. This can be hard to fix if damage. Hope iv helped cheers :) steve

Very nice! :) except for that awful looking radio!

Hey Joe iv experienced them on the a4 and found them effective. I suspect the a3 one would be just as good :) you probably know this already but your best place to start looking for one is eBay :) cheers steve

It would take you ages to get to work though! Lol however id prefer this over normal cycling!

Just thought I'd share... A 1994 Audi cabriolet owned by princess Diana is going under the hammer by Coys Auction this weekend (Saturday 15th) at Blenheim Palace and is expected to fetch £35000-£40,000. the full article can be found here: http://www.oxfordtimes.co.uk/news/15403621.Classic_Audi_driven_by_Princess_Diana_to_be_auctioned_at_Blenheim_Palace/# Plus some pics when it was owned by princess Diana (taken from google images) cheers steve

190k on 1 turbo that's good! :) hmm, well my view is; if the cars a good one and you like it then I would get it done. As replacing the car would cost you more. The age old saying goes "better the devil you know rather the devil you don't know" chers steve

Well done Dave! That's a fantastic saving! :) It sure does pay off by shopping around! I wasn't that lucky when I had to change insurance companies but to be fair I'm limited due to having multi car policies. I think il put my old Ford escort on a classic car policy next year though. Cheers steve

This does sound good Dave :) sorry im not nearer to you otherwise I'd look to attend :) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Robert! :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) sorry to hear the wiper broke, but glad you got it sorted! :) to be fair I have seen this issue on other VAG cars such as vw tourans for example. Youve done a lot of mileage in your a3! Is she running the original turbo? Cheers steve

Iv never tried it that way! Didn't even think too! Very clever :)

Playing phone through media
Steve Q replied to Jessehall's topic in Audi Audio / DashCams / Electronics / Security
Your welcome :) Hmm see if it can work through the Bluetooth. If that fails it might be worth you trying another device such as an iPod or another phone to see if they work. Then you'll know if it's the device or the car :) cheers steve -
Hey Paul, typing in the digit code to pair the car to the phone is quite common but iv never seen it where the phone looses signal and the phone company says you've changed SIM cards! Have you rang vodaphone to see what they have to say about it? Sorry I can't help more. Cheers steve

Your most welcome :) It certainly is confusing! But yours is a c5 unsure who uses the 4b but that's correct also! Youve donebright, those mats will fit :) wow that's amazing! Talk about a great list of features! The problem I have is I find the touch screens on car radios distracting. My dad has one in his Passat company car and it just distracts me a lot more than the radio the Audi has lol. Have to agree I hate TomTom satnavs and prefer google maps myself :) Certainly keep an eye on it and I'd look through the service history to confirm what he's saying. Better still if the work was done at Audi you can ring them with the vin number/registration and they can tell you what it's had done at any main dealer :)

Glad we could help Cameron :) and save you some money! :) cheers steve
-
Thanks :) as long as they're well maintained they'll keep going :) 95k is very low miles! :) i suppose il have to get into the modern age at some point lol! But I have to admit the radio looks great! And would deffo blend in the a6 dash! :) oh and that's a neat way of hiding the camera! ;) Unfortunately I only have a regular a6 with coils. But the level numbering is correct but I don't believe 4 is for maintenance. Pub trivia moment now.....Believe it or not the a6 c5 allroad is one of the only vehicles to complete the Land Rover official off-road course! That shows you how good it is! I would check your service history to see if the air suspension has been fixed. It sounds to me you could have a small leak somewhere if she isn't engaging all levels or the air compressor is playing up. The air suspension can be costly to fix as the car has for air bags on each corner and a air compressor. Either of these items can fail and they can be costly to fix. This is why most allroads end up as spares repairs on eBay or broken for spares. Yep, I have the official mats in my car but you can get them on eBay. Here's the link. I hope it works as iv been having issues put eBay links on here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132233049052 if it doesn't work just type in "genuine Audi A6 4b c5 rubber mats" they should come up then. The seller is Audi-goettingen cheers steve :)
